Yeah I mean, we have pitchers in the minors who would be ready in just around two years time, the time they plan to be ready to compete again. Davis would just start to really show what he can do consistently and I think Niese would be a solid starter because hes got a wicked curve. It doesn't make sense to trade for guys like Wheeler and Draft a harvey if you plan to ship off your young players now anyway, just to start rebuilding the farm system now. Just keep planning for the future without gutting what we've got.
As for Pagan, the organization for whatever reason never really liked him. I guess they just don't like his mental game really. He's a guy who can be consistent and be very good when he's hot. He would of been a good lead off option for the team. Now without Reyes or Pagan idk what they're gonna do. They want to lead off with Daniel Murphy. I mean he's got decent OBP and his average was really good until he got hurt last year but, he's far from the prototypical lead off guy.
Giants aren't re signing anyone? Lol
carlos will be soon
nobody else to resign. torres and sanchez were very bad last year
Cody Ross
Idk from the article I saw. They don't have the money to sign Beltran
I think they will come up with the money for beltran. fuck cody ross
we are getting some money from the pagan trade and will probably trade away another player for money and a shit player
fuck can we just kill rowand and zito?
There will be no decision by Albert Pujols prior to the Meetings' conclusion, however we do know this: The Marlins are likely out, but the Angels are definitely in. The Angels claim they can sign both Pujols and C.J. Wilson. Reports of a 10-year, $220MM offer from the Cardinals may not be accurate, and ESPN's Jayson Stark reported there is indeed an unknown third team in the mix that would need to trade an established first baseman to clear room for The Machine.Spoiler: show

POO HOLES!
Holy shit, 250m for 10 years. A couple of reports said that the cards and pujols were just a couple mil away from a deal. How much more do you think the angels offered him that he couldn't walk away?
My Cardinals fan coworker is absolutely livid right now, talking about burning jerseys and shit LeBron style. I almost feel bad for him. Almost.
I also read that Pujols and Vernon Wells are now the 17th highest payroll in all of MLB right now.
Nah, I don't think this is nearly as bad. No random, really bad special to announce and I think the Cards had like.. 9 years 198 Mil or something while the Angels are 10 years 250+ mil.
Still.. I saw that and was like "Hooooly shit" lol
and I heard Pujols was frustrated that the Cards basically wanted to make him the 4th highest paid 1B and had enough.
The real losers in the Pujols deal?
The Astros.
