tigers wth?
tigers wth?
Tigers racing back to irrelevance. I'm picking 2016 as the year this contract is unmistakeably an albatross.
verlander pitches every day, fielder hits for every batter.
sounds like a dangerous team to me

Miguel Cabrera (left) and Prince Fielder (right) ride off to celebrate after Tigers announce the signing.
They're legit.
One starter away from a top dog in the al.
As I told you a few days ago I have some news to report about the detriot tigers. The Detroit Tigers, I will preface my statement by telling you that they have categorically denied this, but my sources tell me that they have inquired about Prince fielder going to Detroit for 9 years 214 million. Let me confess to you that I'm torn. From a baseball standpoint, it would seem you do that signing in a heartbeat. You don't teach 5'10 300ibs and you don't teach the dominance and the skills that the best big man in the game, Prince fielder, has. But I like Miguel Cabrera. I like the fact that he hits homers and drives in runs.
In all seriousness though prince was suppose to be on a flight to dc for a physical and scott boras pulls this deal out his ass.
What does this say about the rangers though? They overpaid for a mediocre pitcher and decide that there gonna resign josh hamilton the 32 year old recovering heroin addict that is one bender away from sucking penis in dallas to get his next fix.
Pretty sure the Rangers offered him something like 3 years/80mil.
Giving any athlete in any sport with fully guaranteed money a deal over 6 years is idiotic, no way their new front office was going to do another A-Rod contract that kills them for a decade.
They won't resign Hamilton either to a long term deal. He's also delusional if he thinks he's going to get Werth type money.
I haven't read this is fully guaranteed money - where do you see that
Aren't MLB contracts guaranteed unless the player voluntarily retires? It's like the NBA.
oh wow thats 9 years, thought it said 6
I have a few friends here in DC that are Nats fans, they're all happy Washington didn't pony up that kind of contract for Fielder. Just stick Morse at first and go with Harper in center, Werth in right and a platoon in left.
I also have one friend who's a Tigers fan, is pretty happy but admits it's an awful deal. Gotta hand it to Ilitch for spending his dough though, the dude wants a ring before he kicks it.
Prince, Colon, and Cordero all signed today. Must be National Fat Athlete day today or something.
whered colon end up?
