Speaking of the Marlins... Last night I watched the ESPN Bartman movie "Catching Hell" and in true ESPN fashion half of it was about the fucking Red Sox. Look, dickshine movie director, I don't want to see Bill Buckner crying for 20 minutes. They didn't even show most of the replays from the 8th inning. Actually didn't think the Papelbon deal was that bad. It's kinda in the middle. Papelbon is probably the best closer this side of Mariano, is consistent and has no injury history. The problem is they dropped another $12m AAV on a closer when they're going to have to re-sign or replace their SS, CF and young stud SP in the next couple years. So yeah, in a vacuum? Deal isn't so bad. Don't think it's the best deal for the Phillies though.

I dunno, most of those 30 for 30s are very well done.. though I did miss the "Catching Hell" one. Sucks if they really did make a lot of it about Boston, though.

It was two hours so they took their time. They opened with the Bartman play, then spent about 15-20 minutes comparing the histories of the Cubs and the Sox, describing what it meant to be a scapegoat and how fair or unfair that title is, and interviewed Buckner. The climax (if you can call it that) was the filmmakers went to the DR to interview Alou about the play, and the "redemption" part was Buckner's first pitch at Fenway in 2008. I got the feeling since they didn't have any big payoff with interviewing Bartman himself, they wanted you to feel emotionally connected to someone in a similar circumstance. But it came off as typical ESPN Boston-centric crap.
