I never said anything about knowing right from wrong. Obviously you knew it was wrong. So does every kid when he decides to do that kind of shit.

There are options between "don't do it again", and violence.

Especially if they know that all that's going to happen is a tongue lashing and no toys for a week.

Depending on the kid, that can easily be 1000x worse than a spanking, which lasts for 5 minutes vs a week.
