I think 5 other stations are researching, verifying names and information. Then they're going to go with it live soon.

lol, incoming justice.
I have the feeling the Attorney General just might have the best case of his life ahead of him starting in 5 hours.
Also for those wondering in the state of Texas.
10 years to report something like this. She did it right in the neck of time.

I wouldn't get my hopes up considering the latitude a lot of parents get between corporal punishment and child abuse. Dem laws are crazy vague.
Curious how you guys feel about the mothers actions. Reddit is pretty divided but I'm extremely surprised at the outrage at the mother not doing anything over there. In my opinon the mother did everything she probably felt she could to end the immediate situation. To me it's very clear from the video.
That more than crossed the line. When he comes back for seconds because "I never got my lick in on her" he well and truly did. There is a clear difference between discipline and beating someone into submission and his intent was clear as day. Abusive cunt needs to be dealt with and I don't care how.
2:05 explains partly some of her reaction. He asks for more and she says no. Obviously he doesn't wear the pants in that marriage, otherwise she would of feared to intervene with the lashing. In my personal opinion she's just as responsible as the father for this.
If I had a child and my wife was doing this in front of me. I'd sure as hell not allow it to go on for a second. Discipline is one thing, beating and getting off in a sadist way to your child is not.
Also listen to how many times he actually uses the word "beat", he is actually admitting in his ranting to beating her out of frustration and towards the end as I'm guessing his rage is winding down he ends up blaming an inanimate object for his frustration (the computer).
See this is a common opinion on the other forums I'm reading and I just don't see it. She goes into the room and removes the belt from her husband. She tries to get the daughter to comply because she feels she can go easier on her and ends up striking her only once and tries to leave the room and most likely calm her husband down. I can in no way at all see how you think she wears the pants in that family with a man like that in the house. Even the daughter places no blame on the mother, when clearly she could take them both down if she wanted with this. I think a lot of people just can't grasp what an abusive household situation is like. The mother can't possibly think logically in this situation but all I see is her trying to diffuse it the best she can.
And to fully make your analogy you would have to be abused for years by your wife and be living in fear of her. It's a difficult thing to understand I realize but the abused simply don't function the way you or I would.
I just wanna start off and say, how the fuck did the Mom do everything she could to help her daughter? It's not like she raised her voice to the husband or struggled with him for the belt. She took a belt and hit her daughter with it too. Sure not to the degree he did, but she isn't innocent here. She used harsh words and language at her daughter.
I was beat as a child, much worse than this. I once had a phone broke over my face because I went to call 911 after being held down by one parent and kicked in the face by another. So don't sit here and tell me the mom did what she could. She could have easily removed her children from this environment, she could have easily got police involved. Don't give me the crap that he's a judge either. The bruises would have been enough proof that more than a whipping took place there.
Fact is, both parents are just as guilty. The mom was the lesser of 2 evils but doesn't make her a good guy here. I didn't see the Dad handing her the belt and forcing her to yell and hit her daughter either and tell her to take it like a woman or an adult or whatever she said.
Otherwise, didn't really do anything other than shake my head at both parents in this situation, maybe more so the mother. I'm proud of the girl for taking a stand, even if it's 7 years later. Shit's hard to admit to at times. I just can't stress enough, neither parent needed to be near children after seeing this.
Take everything you know as of now, then throw this into the pot.

Money and possessions seemed to keep her happy with him. Guess he stopped putting out?
Well I'm somehow inclined to believe the words of the daughter who posted the video instead of your opinion of a 7 min video clip, but that's just me.
Oh I'm not saying its alright in any sense. I personally suffer from PTSD and realize as most people that have it. You don't feel affected by the incident at the time of occurrence, its years down the road that it all hits you.
As for the possessions and items her dad was flooding her with, off of complete speculation. It seems he stops putting out, and she starts to wake up?
edit: I've never been "beaten" or abused my a family member so I don't know how she or anyone in this position would be affected. I just know its morally wrong.
That... is just disgusting, makes me glad I didn't have to put up with that kind of psycho growing up.
I've owned a PC since I was 10 years old (1998 ) and have been hooked to the master race since. I didn't ever have to deal with shit like that (nowhere near that extent) thankfully. Girl in OP video seems to have a genuine love for vidya.. so I think that's what hits home the most.
Just not sure where you are getting the bolded from. Even in many of those posts there are tones of her father being abusive. Of course she's happy with shiny things... who isn't?? You'd be especially happy if the guy who brought you into this world beat the shit out of you and then started seeming nicer (buying you things) As builttolast said, it's kind of how it works.
I'm talking about the part of your quoted post that I bolded.
