The shorter season may be a godsend for teams with older stars like the Celtics, Lakers, and Spurs. Keeping Rondo is a must for their title chances unless they can get someone better in return (duh).

Mavs would just rest Kidd in that situation, they have some depth there. This season's schedule should actually not be as bad as the '99 schedule that had a ton of back to backs.

This season will favor teams with no coaching or huge player changes, basically teams that are already a finished product. Celtics, Spurs, Mavs, assuming they can resign Chandler.
