in dallas he gets to play for one of the best owners in sports and alongside a superstar who will do what he can't: carry a team offensively. and it's not just that. most importantly if dallas can clear space for d-ho this offseason, that means they've probably got space for d-will too. it's pretty much why dallas let so many FA's go this past one. even if they don't get dwill they can sign other strong talent too.

you may hate dallas but that doesn't mean you should ignore the reality.

Mavs are better than the Spurs right now defensively (all that matters), and the offense will come eventually - same shit happened in 99 with offensive numbers. Their 3rd in defensive efficiency right behind the Bulls - Kidd, Terry, Odom, even Dirk are just not hitting their shots at even their career averages right now so the offense is sucking, except when they turn defense into offense. The bench has actually been outscoring the starters. Not to mention Carlisle is trying to keep Dirk, Kidd, Marion, Terry under 30 mpg because he knows being fresh for the playoffs is all that's going to matter this year.

Lakers playing good defense too, but they just look so lost without the Triangle. Even if Kobe scores 40 every night they are still going to struggle because they can't figure out how to get Pau and Bynum the ball enough.

The Mavs are going to get Dwight or DWill, very small chance of both (though if they get Dwight, Deron is soon to follow). Mavs had to take a step back this year to be guarantee being good in the future - overpaying Chandler, Barea, Butler would have been the worst mistake ever and would have killed the rest of Dirk's prime once those players came back to Earth.

Huh? Mavs are 3rd in Opponents PPG and 3rd in defensive efficiency - that's straight off ESPN. Right behind Philly and Chicago.
