Denver is playing well enough this season that I can see them possibly advancing in the playoffs 1 round, Knicks are gonna be 1 and done again. We are committed to a coaches system which revolves around needing a good Point Guard, and after getting the F who worked well in this system, we have acquired 1) Melo(another F) 2) Chandler(a great defensive C, but still, come on) and 3) Baron Davis.
Our ball movement right now is atrocious, and we are getting some barely wins against teams we shouldn't be, like the Wizards. I was against trading for Melo for alot of reasons, and it's clear to see why. Our team and bench have been pretty much butchered to acquire him so that he can make more money while we are a shittier team. We actually played better with just Amare before when teams couldn't lock him out. And if they did, all it meant was if we got another roleplayer that actually fit the system we use, we'd have been even better. Instead Amare is actually worse now because the offense has had to slow down to adjust to Melo. I know people hate Amare and shit, but he actually revived the Knicks. That's not hard to do considering how our team has been the last 10 years, but that first half of the season I could actually watch a fucking Knicks game for once in full, cause we looked like a real team. I'm not saying that we could take the Finals pre-Melo, but we'd at least have set ourselves up for something better than we have now.
The Knicks suck right now dj. We had all this cap space and good chances to land players, but we got 2 pieces that do not help the team the way it is now. D'Antoni is for sure getting fired after this season if they are in any way sane, so we can get a different system in place that actually better fits the pieces we have. But the Knicks are garbage, we will find a way I imagine down the stretch as the good teams start getting tired cause of the schedule to prolly go .500, enter the playoffs, and do nothing.
