and he scores! BEST CARIBBEAN 2 WAY COMBO GUARD THERE IS
How about Toney Douglas, bill walker and last years Ronnie Turiaf?
Why would orlando want amare with his busted ass knees?
And terrible contract.
Magic could have had Horford+J-Smoove...
You realize you have to match dollar for dollar right? You just can't throw the 3 bums at the end of your bench and trade them for Dwight.
Dwight alone makes about 19-21 mil and turko makes about 10 mil.
you talking to me? if so, yes I know how it works. Marvin Williams would make that work, but I didn't list him because he isn't a centerpiece
original rumors included Joe Johnson but I don't think the Magic would be dumb enough to take that contract
No was talking to DJ
Being the 3rd-4th best team in the East the last 5 years does not = title contender. The one year they made it to the Finals the East was terrible - Celtics were injured and LeBron was imploding in Cleveland, and they got destroyed by the Lakers. There was 4 teams in the West that year that would of beaten the Magic.you can't be serious. dwight + nobodies has routinely been one of the best teams year in and out, with this one being the exception cause a player doing the melo causes irreparable damage until they're gone.
way back when i was a laker fan, the entire town used to say the same shit every year. "we need to upgrade PF/SF/PG because kobe and shaq isn't enough." but that was despite the fact that those teams were wildly successful with their "barren" roster. 2 superstars and a bunch of scrub role players is more than enough.
2 superstars + scrubs is not enough. Your roleplayers need to actually contribute. Roleplayers do not = scrubs, scrubs are #11-12 guy on the bench who only sees the floor in blowouts. If you have roleplayers 11 deep you can even win a championship with 1 superstar. If anything last year's Finals proved you can't win with a team only 6 players deep.
you say that yet you still don't understand my point? dwight obviously didn't HAVE a second superstar to play with these past few years. if dwight + a bunch of nobodies could make it deep into the playoffs year after year then what do you think he will do with a kobe or dwill at his side? not even that, he's shown that he's never been serious enough about the game or that he can be a leader, but pairing him with a true #1 would take all the pressure off him and allow him to do an even better job.
and obviously yeah you need role players to contribute. regardless of the definition you or i use, there'd be no shortage of utility players who'd want to play with kobe/dwight in LA, though i don't believe the same could be said about dwill and the nets.
The magic have been full of mediocre players + Dwight. He's worked with VC, Turkoglu, Nelson, Lewis, players who were overrated coming in. Rashard Lewis was a monster during the Supersonic days with Ray Allen but he's washed up.
He needs to get outa Orlando. I hope he lands in Chicago tbh.
Check out what Jim Carrey said
Rick Carlisle is a big fan of Gregg Popovich. So much so that Carlisle said the San Antonio Spurs head coach is the greatest coach the game has ever seen.
"I think he's the greatest coach, really ever in this game, because all their guys function within their system at a high level," Carlisle said following Sunday's 101-100 overtime win over Popovich's bunch.
The Spurs were in an 18-point hole during the third quarter when Popovich decided to clear his bench. The group responded by catching fire, pulling ahead by nine at one point in the fourth, and scoring the team's final 51 points.
"We were making a few mistakes on them but they were executing like crazy and it's a great example of what playing the right way is about," Carlisle said. "I've seen Pop do this time and time again. If the same group gets them back in the game, he lets them finish the game, unless it's some kind of unusual situation."
The Bulls wouldn't give up Noah + Asik, they would need Asik to back up Dwight. The more likely trade would be Noah, Deng, and Gibson.
Which would be too much in my opinion because I think they amnesty Boozer and make Gibson the starter next year when Gibson comes off his rookie contract.
Plus Noah is Rose's best friend on the team apparently. Not sure Chicago makes that trade under any realistic circumstances.
Anyone outside of rose to get Dwight is expendable don't kid yourself. This isn't a melo situation because Rose is better than melo and anyone on the Knicks.
Even if it means no title this year in the long run the bulls would be the team to beat.
Sorry I guess it was the next year that LeBron quit on his team. I get my LeBron failures messed up sometimes. Point is Orlando has been bad for years, even the year they made it to the Finals in a weak East. Their team has basically been Dwight + 3 pt shooters his entire career.
Also, loving Charlie Redz aka Delonte West - guy is a baller.
They still have the same problems they had last year. Terrible in the crunch and can't execute against a good zone, put them together and the Heat resort to chucking up long jumpers. Shane Battier isn't that great. That's basically what is happening with the Heat. Took them a 2nd offseason to find better pieces and they are a much better team than last year. The hard part is getting the stars, not the supporting cast, obv.
They'd be a better team if they just traded Wade or LeBron for a PG and center - those 2 will never play at 100% efficiency while on the court together.
