also, yea FT in bg is pretty much a loss for me every week cuz of him. He averages 12 FTs a game (most in the nba). At least he makes up for it in rebounds (also 1st in league) and points

Dirk will figure it out soon. He's getting his shots easily now compared to earlier this season, they just aren't going in.

God help other teams if he does - Mavs are scoring 90-100 and holding other teams around 88 with Dirk as just a decoy + rebounder.

...that's not how things work...

You're assuming that everything will play out exactly as it did if 50% of his shots are made which wouldn't be the case. Momentum, offense, defense, timeouts, free throws, fouls, etc. all change based on the score. For instance you aren't going to intentionally foul if you're only down 2 with 30 seconds to go as opposed to if you were down by 5.

Maybe, but that wasn't the case last night. Thunder aren't any different than last year, still the same flaws.

Dirk just has been shooting badly all year, doesn't matter if someone is on him or it's a wide open shot, he's not on target.

When Dirk is in rhythm there is no defense for his shot, if he get's it off it's over, it's unblockable - only way to defend him is keep him off his spots and run doubles at him to make him pass and hope that person doesn't hit. Collison probably did the best job of that of anyone last year in the playoffs but Dirk still killed him.
