Reports that Howard won't opt out and will stay with the Magic another year
broussard etc
UPDATE: Broussard now has this: "Sources say Howard has told teammates and Magic execs he will not opt out. Has not yet signed paperwork though, so nothing guaranteed."
If Howard indeed signs paperwork to opt in on the final year of his contract (2012-2013), it would seem that he may remain with the Magic not only for the rest of this year, but for at least next season as well.
Knicks should mulligan. Trade Melo and Chandler for Howard and Turkgolu.
also,
From Alex Kennedy of HOOPSWORLD: "Sources confirm: Lakers, Wolves and Blazers discussing three-team deal. Michael Beasley to L.A., Jamal Crawford to Minnesota, Steve Blake to Portland. Other players and picks will likely be added to the LA-MIN-POR three-team deal. Those are just the names I'm hearing right now."
The Lakers have been looking for help at SF beyond their PG needs, so Beasley would help there. The addition of Blake to Portland could also make Raymond Felton more expendable if the Blazers look to trade him as well. Crawford could help the Timberwolves make a playoff push with Ricky Rubio now out for the year
wtf are the lakers going to do at PG? Their starting PG is 900 years old and they are shipping their backup out?
Supposedly Cleaveland wanted only a draft pick for Ramon Sessions. I don't know if the $ still works out still with the trade exemption they got for dropping Odom, but I'd guess that's the plan.
ALSO WHO'S READY FOR ANOTHER YEAR OF "WHERE'S DWIGHT GONNA LAND?" NEXT YEAR CUZ IT'S ONLY A 1 YEAR OPT-IN?!
My money is Deron lands in Dallas now.
We all know Mike Brown's offense system doesn't need a PG anyway, it's give LeBron Kobe the ball and stand around hoping that the ball goes in the hoop. Then stand around preaching defense and ride to CotY on the coattails of the super star scorer.
EDIT: I was thinking Deron lands in Dallas but then I considered Russian Mark Cuban wouldn't let that happen. 23 hours to make a Deron Williams deal, who gets him?
they're hoping he regains his title as best backup PG in the league.
seriously though i kinda feel bad for him. he was a pretty solid player when he got burn and it just all fizzled out cause of his confidence.
GOAT
not the worst, but definitely the dumbest
I dont feel like writing a wall of text as to how just firing the coach in the middle of the season when he isn't given the pieces to win doesn't make sense. So tldr, Knicks ownership is stupid and apparently thinks this will help them clinch the #8 seed so we can get knocked out the first round again.
you would be missed on these forums, sir
You know who's happy about all this? Lebron. This Howard sideshow is WORSE than the decision. If what ppl are saying is true we could go another fucking year with Dwight talk.
Sorry usually skim posts not worth reading and from the shit you quoted looks like I was right and nothing of value was lost.
it'll be bad but at least i don't think it'll be from the magic side. they think he's completely full of shit and are still trying to trade him.
