I still say that Paul goes to NY, but who gives NOLA a better offer? Nets and Bulls aren't in for Paul because they already have star PGs.

The Clippers are the only ones with outright cap space to sign Howard/Paul, and have enough pieces to gut their team for the other. But do you really see people wanting to play for Donald Sterling? Other than that, the Heat could offer up James like GRT said or the Thunder could give Westbrook + someone else.

Lakers have a chance at Paul, not high though. I think Howard is more realistic.

Because that's still more than Cleveland got for LeBron. Then you see what Denver got for Carmelo by shipping him off before free agency. If you're a GM which side do you want to be on? With LeBron having taken the brunt of being the first villain to ditch his hometown, and Carmelo being the one to fuck over his team in trades, the players are empowered to be moved when they want.

No one's saying it's a great deal besides Rhinox's mythical idiot Laker fan that he substitutes for GRT and me when he posts. We're simply saying that the pressure is to trade them before they bolt.

In that regard the Lakers have an advantage, specifically with Orlando, because they would be one of the few teams willing and able to take Arenas along with Howard. Being able to get both Arenas and Hedo off the books would do wonders for Orlando's rebuilding.

This is a guy that traded for Arenas, you seriously think he's going to let Howard walk after that? Not necessarily to LA, but Howard will get dealt to someone. TBH surprises like "Deron to NJ" happen a lot more than anticipated ones like "Carmelo to NY." But just looking at what each team can get otherwise, LA does make a lot of sense.

i agree with this. and i could more easily see the magic trading d-ho for noah/gibson/asik/money/picks than to the lakers for bynum/odom. if the lakers want any shot they will need to offer bynum/gasol minimum.
