Half of LA is always crying that Fisher can't cut it anymore but Laker fans want to think they are classy, so they aren't going to say good riddance like with Walton and instead will talk about how he was the heart and soul of the team and stuff.

he was the only player on the team that could challenge Bryant, and he was clutch as fuck during their championship runs. easily the 2nd clutchest after Bryant during the last 2
shoulda kept him as a team leader and in a Kerr/Horry role
You do realize that despite being old and decrepit on the court he was actually very reliable in the final minutes as a go to option right? He's nowhere near as useful as he used to be but he was still viable in the final seconds. And he was a key locker room presence. I'm not saying they should have kept him, but Kobe can and will bitch about Fisher like I said before, and while the cons outweigh the pros, he had a few pros to him. They overall get better with him gone tho.
you think fisher was gonna be happy coming off the bench for sessions?
he's a big boy he'd deal with it
especially if the alternative is getting stuck behind Lowry and Dragic in an 8th seed's rotation
Fisher doesn't seem like a dumb guy, he should realize his place at this point and time and realize that very few PG at his age are actually productive enough to constantly start. Nash is a big exception because of how he takes care of himself. If Jason Kidd plays again next year he's already resigned himself to not having an issue as a veteran backup for a team because he'd still be productive in that type of role.
Fisher leading the 2nd rotation would have worked fine and he would have worked there.
I don't know if the Fisher salary dump was worth the draft pick. But they had legit need to shed one PG, if no one wanted Blake...
Bulls got beat by a terrible team tonight. Not surprised. Teams usually play well when they fire their coach and the bulls were do for a let down after the big win on Wednesday.
Bulls last of the single loss teams to lose.
'topes lose...'topes lose...

But eh i wasn't surprised we lost, I AM surprised that we only scored 10 fucking points in the 4th quarter
see, he can barely contain his joy
"When asked if he was angry about the trade that sent Fisher, along with a first-round pick to the Houston Rockets in exchange for forward Jordan Hill, Bryant said, simply, "No.""

fisher gonna fishDerek Fisher, who was traded to the Houston Rockets from the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, was not with the Rockets Saturday for their game against the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center.
"I haven't seen Derek yet," Rockets coach Kevin McHale said. "I have not talked to him."
"Not with team" was written next to Fisher's name on the Rockets' roster signed by McHale, who did not know what the team's plans were for Fisher.
"That's not in my job description," McHale said. "He's not here. If he was here he'd play. He's not here. I haven't seen him yet."
Fisher had been the NBA's active leader for the longest regular-season consecutive games streak, having played in 537 consecutive games heading into Saturday. He had not missed a game since the 2004-05 season, when he was with the Golden State Warriors.
The 16-year veteran, who turned 37 in August, was traded Thursday to the Rockets along with the first-round pick acquired from Dallas in the Lamar Odom trade for center Jordan Hill.
