If you mean he has the ability to run back to pretend to play defense faster than amare, sure. If they're gonna ship someone out it should be melo, but with everything they gave up to get him + Amare's old man legs I wouldn't be surprised. Which sucks, but Melo/Chandler/CP3 sounds alot more appealing of a trio.

I just hope Eddy Curry is available after all this, we desperately need him. The 3 way trade to make the Timberwolves buy him out was all part of our plan.

Don't think you need to count on Melo to play defense as much with Chandler - would be a lot worse defensively than the Mavs were though, since they had Kidd/Marion/Stevenson to check wings.

Not like D'Antoni coaches defense anyways.

Carmelo Anthony does the bare minimum required to play defense. If he's part of a marquee match up he'll just throw his fat around and hope people get tired of having to work through him. He does not get blocks, he does not get steals, he does not protect passing lanes unless he has to, and I don't even think he's ever used the words "help" and "defense" in the same sentence.

They won't have room for CP3 if Chandler is there, and you NEED a good PG for the D'Antoni system so they'd have to get CP3 since they're be removing Billups for this to work out. They could go for someone on the market after his contract ends, build a nice bench to work with.

I think D'antoni's system could work with Chandler. It'd be nice to get Lee back for the MLE once he get's amnestied. I'm not a huge Toney Douglas fan but I like Iman Shumpert at PG, or letting Grant Hill play point-forward until we find a capable distributor. And isn't Felton a FA next year?
