I agree with GRT, go see a neurologist. The Nets already ponied up Lopez + Draft picks. You threw yourself into foamy rage fits over how that was a better deal than Odom+Bynum.

And if we weren't going to get Howard anyway, how does this trade work out for us? Once again it secured a young star to build around but also completely collapsed the front line.

In lieu of recent events, stalling the CP3 trade,

Owner of the Lakers has reconsidered his stance on Chris Paul, opting to keep Pau Gasol and instead, signing a true compliment and start to the team.

    Adam Morrison.

So we went from no way Howard goes to the Lakers for Odom/Bynum to Howard definitely going to the Lakers for just Bynum, and you Lakers fans are stupid for not wanting CP3 because I jelly that he won't be on the Knicks.

If the Magic couldn't put a championship team together around Dwight Howard, what does that say about your chances building around Bynum?

Please tell me where Howard said he'd sign long term with the Nets.

You somehow apparently thought it would happen because it was your main argument to why the Lakers weren't getting Howard and why we were delusional.

And the reason is named Deron Williams.

    average 70 games a year =/= dependable

Thats the average you see an aging veteran play not a 27 year old PG with questionable knees.

    Lakers owe Stern one

why are head managers so fucking stupid Howard fits into that system / with the existing personnel better than Paul ever would and you get to keep the 20-10 guy who passes as well as any big and gets 2 blocks a game in the playoffs, the one who took your marginal 8-seed playoff team to three straight Finals

Mike Brown can't coach offense but that offense gets real simple when it becomes pass the ball to Kobe on the wing and let him go, pass the ball to Pau in the high post and let him go, pass the ball to Howard in the low post and let him go, then put in two shooters to sit at the three point line, boom. good offense.

you throw in Howard's ability to protect the rim, let Barnes harass the speedier swing guys and Artest bully the stronger swing guys, then you snag Delonte West on the cheap and let him defend all the points you couldn't defend last year and, BOOM. good defense.

    West
    Bryant
    Barnes/Artest
    Gasol
    Howard

throw in Fisher when you need veteran presence, Blake when you need a token white guy to hit 3s, Turkoglu when you need additional playmaking and shooting, let Mike Brown hone another stellar defense with better pieces than he had in Clevelabd

top 5 halfcourt defense, top 5 halfcourt offense, title favorites.

i don't even like the Lakers but this isn't hard to figure out, Chris Paul should have always been your plan b.

Gasol is 31 years old. All of your competition is getting better in the next couple years while your two best players are getting older.

Apparently Lamar Odom wasn’t the only one brought to tears over the news that the LA Lakers were on the eve of acquiring Chris Paul from the Hornets.
    http://espn.go.com/espnradio/losangeles/play?s=la
Apparently Laker forward Lamar Odom called into ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith’s radio show and broke down crying after the news broke he was headed to New Orleans as part of the deal.

That was my exact point. The trade got the Lakers a young star to build around because Bynum wasn't going to be that star. No one at any point in time, except for Jim Buss, intended to build a team around Bynum.

But what you're missing is what everyone except you also sees: Howard was the better fit, and Odom was the necessary piece to get him. By trading away Lamar/Pau, everything rode on Bynum's knee holding out and him flourishing without having to compete with Pau.

The Lakers don't get much stronger immediately with Paul. They definitely do with Howard. And the Hornets get about as good of a trade-off as they can manage by landing Pau/Odom. A Top-3 PF and a solid SF who can also play PF at starter level? What better deal were they gonna get?

Another lockout whenever this CBA expires because the owners refuse to realize they need to contract uselss teams out of the league and stop offering shitty contracts then bitch-whine-moaning about how they can't win as a result of their own idiocy.

Lamar supposedly wears his heart on his sleeve. Also, CP3 is a free agent next year so if he doesn't move by this season, we are going to have to go thru this again...

We laugh when he becomes a FA, signs where he wants for max money, and the Hornets get nothing.
