Rubio has made a strong impression early in training camp with his passing ability, but head coach Rick Adelman also said he's a better-than-expected shooter. "People have talked so much about his shooting, but he's been working on that," Adelman told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "He just has to learn to take open shots. He's not used to that. He always thinks pass first."

Rubio shot just 31 percent from the floor and 22.4 percent from three-point range in 20 Euroleague games while playing for Regal FC Barcelona last season. As a result, the big question is if he can shoot well enough to get starter minutes despite his passing ability. It's early in training camp, but so far it sounds like Adelman will make him the starting point guard to begin the season.
