Rick finally got Sean Williams in the game, his first NBA action in 2 years. In 11 minutes he had 12 points, 3 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal.

Then he had to be taken out of the game from fatigue and puked on the bench. Cuban proceeds to make fun of him for the rest of the game.

lakers and mavs start out 0-2? best year ever

Expected for the Mavs, imo. 6 new players, and the rest spent most the offseason dicking around while high on a championship.

Carlisle still trying to figure out lineups, probably won't see good basketball for another 2 weeks or so.

Lakers are basically last year's Heat, except not as good. 3 good players and 12 other scabs - but Kobe is old and Bynum is suspended.

Who knows with a lockout season though. Just try to get to the playoffs then anything can happen, e.g. '99 Knicks.

Most the contenders brought back all their players - Heat, OKC, Bulls, etc made zero changes, of course they are going to play better right out of the gate.

Also never implied the Lakers were as good as the 2010-11 Heat, just currently constructed as such.

They are the same team they were before Chandler. Highly effecient offense, average defense (when they finally get the lineup right) - was enough to win 50 games for 11 years. Not really a title contender but no one expected that coming into this year, there's a reason all their new guys have 1 year contracts.

It only took 1 game for Carlisle to figure out Vince Carter should be on the bench, hopefully soon he'll figure out he should be in street clothes.
