Another reinstalling ffxi thread

Had to reformat my pc and cant find my discs....I do however have ffxi copied onto a 16 gb sd card. I tried just dragging the files from the sd card into the folders they're supposed to be in but when I tried booting Pol it says that either ffxi isnt installed or that my registry is fucked. Anybody know the easiest solution here? Any help is appreciated.

What I've always done is:

Keep your rom files on an external, but when you go to reinstall download the playonline installer (assuming you're on 7/vista), then drag your files over. Works every time for me.

Easiest thing to do is that. Just download the installer and copy the files over as soon as you've installed. It sets up the registry and registers the DLLs as part of the process, Windows doesn't care if you start overwriting files after that.

I would think it's easier to just run a .bat file, after copying the files, but ok.
