Spell Interruption Down.
On RNG, I usually sit at 70-72/80 Inventory which is managable. On NIN, which is about 95% of the time, I'm almost always at 75+/80 even after switching to the new multi-tools and I still don't have room to carry everything I want in my main inventory. I'll keep proc weapons on me at all times as well as tp(both capped haste, and a hybrid set that sacrafices 2% haste for more defense/evasion)/ws/pdt/mdt sets, tools, food, etc... I have gotten in the habit of having at least 20 open spaces in my Satchel and I frequently check my inventory for items that need to be moved over. As far as sacrificing gear, I keep the set/gear that I won't need as much for whatever I am doing at that moment which is usually my ninjutsu set or sometimes evasion. It helped that much of the AF3+2 gear can be used well in multiple sets. It would be so nice if there was a way to force certain items to go directly to your satchel, it does get annoying sometimes to constantly be in inventory though I am use to it.
I'm usually 78 or 79/80 on BLU, I have had to sacrifice a few miniscule upgrade pieces in order to fit everything in, mostly from my cure set.
My SAM has
GKT TP
Polearm TP
Sword TP
Club TP
Fudo
Penta
PDT
MDT
HHP
Enm+
Enm -
EVA
Casting set if /nin
Subtle blow set
Idle
and Macc set if /dnc.
I think that covers everything.
help.
It's abysmal to have 80 inventory with such terribly managed system to begin with. Inventory should be expanded to 120+ slots, it should take up more of the screen so that you don't have to scroll through all the items (maybe instead of 2 columns make 4, 2 for each bag), and lastly items in Mog Satchel/Sack should be as usable as inventory items.
I'm aware all that is impossible for SE (even if it was not for someone else), but ultimately that's what we should have.
Blah blah PS2 limitations, everything can be done with patches.
What are the differences between the weapon type TP sets? If it's just things like sea torques, or Skill+ gear, you might consider replacing those pieces with straight acc/atk if you can. For the nonGK sets at least. Then those items can apply to all TP sets.
You have an HHP set? As in HP while Healing+? When do you actually sit around long enough for that to be applicable? If you're soling, you should be /dnc. Or use regen gear during Idle to help recover. If you're not solo then someone should be able to cure.
I can see some situational use for a enmity+ set, if you're tanking /war or /dnc for some reason. Voke/warcry, animating flourish and waltzes could benefit enmity wise. But still, unless you're having to tank disengaged you should be able to keep hate via DD. Very niche set for a SAM.
If you're /nin you've got no real enmity JA or spells so what are you gonna do with enmity+ gear? All sam's JA's are 1/300 CE/VE, except for meditate. Which is 320 ce 0 ve. oddly. Either way you're not gonna keep hate via those whether you use Enmity+ gear or not.
I can't even Imagine what you use enmity- gear for. <,< I hope you don't DD in it. And as I said above, SAM Ja are all very low enmity gain.
I've no idea how well SAM evades. Although I can't see it being very effective. But I can't really talk, I made a EVA build for my PLD once, for a specific NM. I'd leave this one in the MH unless you going into a specific situation you know it'll help for.
Is the casting set fast cast? Spell interruption? both? Fast cast is good. If it's SID, I wouldn't bother unless you can cap it.
Sublte blow is useful on certain NMs, but my set spends most of it's time in my satchel.
Overview
Key
*:Adjust/recompile into a General Weapon TP set. Applicable to any weapon
**:Satchel or leave in MH unless going into a situation where you'll use it.
Bolded:Little to no value. Discard.
Even if you had a full and complete HHP set it'd likely take you longer to rest your hp to full than it would be to warp and zone in to your mh and then get back to where you were.
Don't forget fastcast set.
When I got CDC I satcheled my sangine gear. Granted, I do use it occasionally for certain mobs but usually not even enough to warrant taking it out of my satchel. In my opinion, carrying mnd gear for blu is borderline useless, I've even put away a few cure potency pieces but I've got an alt on brd or whm so I'd say I'm somewhat biased on that. If you are using mnd gear only for curing just take a look at how much it adds to your cures and how much space it takes, mine is in my satchel for use only when I'm doing main healing.
My only PDT/MDT gears I carry around regardless of what job I'm using are Twilight Torque & 2x Dark Rings. I still can't afford the spaces for job specific PDT/MDT. DNC, SAM, BLU... yeah, they almost shares no gear for PDT/MDT.
And fast cast... Unless there's a combination of fast cast gear with minimal amount of inventory cost that can push up to 50% fast cast, I probably won't bother with them.
BLU fast cast options are pretty limitedCrimson/Blood Cuisses are already included if you have them due to +movement, Mavi body is a given... everything else gets pretty minor. I keep Mirke in inventory for non-blue magic sometimes but it doubles as my evasion body, Anwig stays in inventory because it's also augmented with curepot, and I don't bother with <=2% FC items.
May or may not help, but on BLU, I'm usually able to keep all of my staves in my sack (no pun etc.) until I need to use them. For instance, if I have CW set, I'll have jupiter's in inventory, and the rest in my sack. Other than that, BLU is pretty much fucked when it comes to inventory space, more so than any other job imo.
Well I can't really speak to blu or pld. And RDM is pretty situational depending on how you play it. However, there are some changes I would make to your blm gear if it were me.
If the Pax grip is only used in your idle set, dump it. Then emnity - isn't going to have an effect while idle unless you take an action....and if you take an action, you probably switch grips...
The same statement is true for Delta Earring and Trooper's ring.
In my opinion, you could also take the Haste slots out of your dark magic set. I understand the logic, and the desire for reduced recast timers, but I'm not sure the return is worth the -inventory. I think that is goading belt and Zelus tiara.
Ok thanks.
I use the emnity- gears in idle set so when i take hits i lose much more accumulated emnity than if i didnot have those emnity- items, but i'mnot sure actually it's worth indeed :s
Agreed for goading/Zelus, i'll rep them with resp. Casso and maybe that new head planned in next update.
-/+ Enmity doesn't actually affect CE loss from damage. Only Beguiling Collar can increase loss.
On COR:
Wildfire set
Slug set
Det set
Qd set
Ranged attack
Melee TP set
Evisceration set
Mp set (never use it though)
With Last Stand coming ill be able to drop slug and det sets.
With 2-3 types of ammo and some qd cards I set around 70-75 inventory.
On WHM:
Idle set
Cure set
Curaga set
Int set
Mnd set
Barspell set
Stoneskin set
Fast cast
Melee set
Havent used hmp set since before abyssea and isnt needed at all these days. On WHM im usually at 65-70 depending on meds / weapons.
I think what really irritates me about the whole inventory issue is that even if they added another 40 slots to our inventory, we'd just fill it up with sidegrades again. It's a shitty game design choice (gearswapping, at least in the form they've chosen to do it) and I can't believe they've actually embraced it by constantly adding more and more sidegrades.
On NIN I have:
TP set
Blade: Hi set
Ninjutsu set
Evasion set (a couple hybrid evasion/haste pieces to adapt to situations)
Damage Taken- set
Ninja Kyahan+1/Danzo Sune-Ate
2 stacks of shihei
1 stack of each universal
With supposed adjustments to Sange/shuriken coming, there is a possibility there will be a need to build a ranged acc/attack set and have slots for at least one stack of shuriken at a time. Bleh.
The only way to really fix the inventory as it currently is, is to allow us to pull gear from other places besides the main inventory. Couple that with a away to access a porter moogle or even your mog house moogle in the field would be great.
Allow your mog house moogle to bring you gear only in the field would be pretty awesome.
Rdm uses:
Idle set (19)
Other 7 staves (+7)
PDT set (+1)
Cure (+9)
FastCast precast (+3)
Various buff sets (+9)
Haste gear (+5)
MND (+5)
INT (+7)
Nukes (+8)
Dark (+3)
Echo Drops (+1)
77/80
Satchel:
MDT (+7)
Convert (+7)
91/80, excluding all the more echoes/holy waters/nin tools/cudgels/rr/etc crap in sack.
