    The only way to really fix the inventory as it currently is, is to allow us to pull gear from other places besides the main inventory. Couple that with a away to access a porter moogle or even your mog house moogle in the field would be great.
    Or remove gearswaps during combat, I guess- I always thought if they did that it would add an interesting choice to certain pieces of gear. EX: Back at 75, Denali Bonnet might actually have been useful for some situations, dusk gloves would be a big no-no for fights you need to move around in, etc. There'd be a lot more variables to consider when thinking about the flow of battle. You'd still want many different pieces of gear to make yourself more versatile, but you wouldn't have to carry them around in your gobbiebag- you could stuff them in the mog satchel/sack until you want to change up your role.

    Though I think it's such a huge clusterfuck of gear now that it's probably not a good idea to do that anymore.

    Could you imagine if they prevented gear swapping outside your mog house?

    I might be able to help some with PLD gear.

    But one question, first. Is the goal here to reduce overall inv use? Or to reduce what you have to carry on your person for a job at a given time?

    I could make some suggestions for PLD, but some of the pieces I'd stop carrying may be used on other jobs. So if the goal is overall INV, then my thoughts may not be much help.

    I have to admit I am probably a bit lazy when it comes to SMN, and so I don't have that many gear sets, but I would suspect if you wanted to go 100% these would be what you would need.

    At least one magian staff per avatar.
    An idle/avatar out set
    A Physical BP set
    A Magical BP set
    (Is there any reason to have a ward BP set?)
    Perhaps a favor set?
    A Syphon set
    A resting set(Though I've found that given my gear I don't need to rest anymore)

    I don't really think SMN needs a lot of sets to get the job done, which is nice.

    +Skill set used to be desired for +Duration to the buffs, but I've no clue how all of that changed since the cap was raised from 75.

    If they still need you to cap SMN Magic first before getting +Duration from skill on gear at lvl95, SE really dropped the ball on that one.

    Summoning Magic Skill also affects the duration of Tidal Roar/Diamond Storm, Inferno Howl's power and the number of status ailments removed by Soothing Ruby.
    Blood Pact: Ward's duration are extended by 1 second per skill over 300 now. (i.e. Hastega lasts 4 min with 360 and 6:20 with 500)

    My NIN has:
    TP
    Crit WS
    Non-Crit WS
    Evasion TP
    PDT
    MDT
    Nin Debuff
    Nin Nuking
    Ni
    Ichi (Stacks Evasion in non haste slots)

    one thing i also have in my script is Ninja Tool Expertise for all debuffs and nuking spells. I use AF2+1 hands, the NTE Belt, and NTE augmented pants from dom ops. those, with Yonin and up and Oirandori, i rarely have to buy multi-tools. really handy when it come to procing in abyssea and VW

    Ok, good. Some of this might be useful then. I actually wrote this post before that question occurred to me. But wasn't gonna post it unless it was applicable. ^^;

    Regarding PLD gear.

    The first thing I'd do, is ditch the entire resting set. I pretty much never rest on PLD. About the only exception I can think of is waiting for weakness to wear and such. So that'd free up 6 inv right there. If you include the Ariesian Grip it'd be 7. I'd satchel the pluto's when not in use as it's also useful for Cataclysm.

    Next, I'd take a look at cure kits.

    These are my current sets for cure IV kits.
    Code:
    		<set name="CureKitIVPre">
    			<ammo>Incantor Stone</ammo>
    			<head>Zelus Tiara</head>
    			<neck>Jeweled collar</neck>
    			<lear>Loquacious Earring</lear>
    			<rear>Hospitaler Earring</rear>
    			<body>Twilight Mail</body>
    			<hands>Melaco Mittens</hands>
    			<lring>Bifrost Ring</lring>
    			<rring>Dark Ring</rring>
    			<back>Metallon Mantle</back>
    			<waist>Nierenschutz</waist>
    			<legs>Remove</legs>
    			<feet>Askar Gambieras</feet>
    		</set>

    		<set name="CureKitIVMid">
    			<!--Cures 460 Enmity +48 -->
    			<head>Hero's Galea</head>
    			<!--head>Koenig Schaller</head-->
    			<neck>Invidia Torque</neck>
    			<lear>Oneiros Earring</lear>
    			<rear>Hospitaler Earring</rear>
    			<body>Creed Cuirass +2</body>
    			<hands>Iron Ram Dastanas</hands>
    			<lring>Odium Ring</lring>
    			<rring>Meridian Ring</rring>
    			<back>Valor Cape</back>
    			<waist>Creed Baudrier</waist>
    			<legs>Blitzer Poleyn</legs><!--Hp+25, enmity+4, Cure+5% -->
    			<feet>Dornen Schuhs</feet>
    		</set>
    Going from from pre>mid makes a HP difference of 475. With a 460 cure(+15% cure potency), and +48 enmity.

    Most of the pre set is just 0 HP gear. Only the Bifrost and dark ring actually have HP-. The rest is either MP balancing, or fast cast gear.

    Using my exact set you could drop 4 items.

    Bloodgem Earring
    Morgana's Choker
    Graiai Earring
    Gigant Mantle

    Assuming you could live with losing the earring on Idle, and Morgana's on Chivalry. But would require you to pick up 4 items as well.

    Blitzer Poleyn
    Dornen Schuhs
    Oneiros Earring
    Hospitaler Earring

    Overall you'd lose 2 enmity(assuming I've complied your sets right. Multiple base sets give me a headache.) But you'd gain substantial(15%) Cure Potency. Also, this set might cap for you, as you'd have 5% more Cure+ from your Dagda's. Just not sure exactly how much you cure for.

    But while you get better cure kits.. this doesn't actually save you any space. ^^;

    So, to try to save more space, you could not use some of those added items. If you cut out the cure potency items, you won't need as much hp diff. I'd still use the dornen schuhs. 45 hp/mp at the cost of 1 enmity is pretty nice.

    Dropping those 3 items will cost you 45 hp difference putting the diff at 430. But after dropping 15% cure+ you shouldn't need as much HP anyway. Dropping 15% cure+ put my cure at 400. Adding 5% back to account for your dagda's shield did 420. Still within range.

    So this set would look like:
    Code:
    		<set name="CureKitIVMid">
    			<head>Hero's Galea</head>
    			<neck>Invidia Torque</neck>
    			<lear>Loquac. Earring</lear>
    			<rear>Hades Earring +1</rear>
    			<body>Creed Cuirass +2</body>
    			<hands>Iron Ram Dastanas</hands>
    			<lring>Odium Ring</lring>
    			<rring>Meridian Ring</rring>
    			<back>Valor Cape</back>
    			<waist>Creed Baudrier</waist>
    			<legs>Affronter Cuisses</legs>
    			<feet>Dornen Schuhs</feet>
    		</set>
    A 420'ish cure with +52 enmity(before dagda's enmity+). A slight improvement from your original set, while gaining +3 INV.

    I'd also take a brief look at jet seraweels and omega ring. If MND is vitally important to you, then yeah, keep the seraweels. I just haven't found myself needing chivalry as much post 75. Or pretty much at all Post-Ochain. For omega ring, I'd either store it, and not use a MND ring. Or store it and get a +6 or 7 ring. If you're gonna use a inv slot on it, may as well get the most out of it.

    If you ever pick up Twilight helm/body, you could replace current heca head and pearle body with them. Then use them for MND as well and put away the jet/omega. More MND and more INV. Or hold on to them for more total MND. But, perfection vs practicality.

    So, assuming the path of greatest inv gain you're looking at something like ~+12 inv gain. With improved cure kits, and minor MND loss.

    BTW.. What the heck are Dagda's Diechlings? They're in your rampart set. But as far as I know, they don't exist.

    Anyway, I hope some of this proves useful to you.

    How much time does each macro line take to execute, whether it's with plain FFXI or those windower plugins? If I press ctrl+1 and then ctrl+2 really fast, on two macros that swap 6 pieces of gear, not all macro lines get executed. That makes me wonder if it's beneficial to equip fast cast gear before casting cures. I want to minimize my cure latency, but don't want to waste inventory or do more harm than good.

    If you press two macros in a row, the second one cancels the first wherever it happens to be at. This is one of the major advantages of windower macros.

    I don't know about anyone, but even with 6 main jobs, I find myself having issues with inventory to keep all different sets for different jobs. I keep some multi function piece even though I know they're not optimal for a particular set and sometimes I just sacrifice a certain quality to preserve the 80 inventory.

    With the advent of all the new relic augments+ nyzul augments, it's even more of an issue as we'll need more space for +1/+2 ...and the items needed to get those upgrades.

    I honestly don't know how most people can play as specialized as they do but yet have so many other jobs lvled. It's also why I could never lvl blu, and boy do I hate SE for making the triggers since it means my War always carry the array of weapons which it wouldn't have to if SE didn't do this.
