I really enjoy my 32" Westinghouse. Gets the job done, got it like 4 years ago when I got my PS3.
Not sure whether my "for the next 10 years" big living room TV should be 3D or no. Thoughts? Worried I'll regret it if I don't future-proof myself, but then again I don't really care about 3D. Just thinking it could be pretty cool once videogames start really taking advantage of it.
The only thing I have is an old monitor I used to replace a blown CRT, but I can't begin to expound on how awful it is. It's 1280x1024, I call it the retardomonitor. I can't even sell the fucker.
As for goal, I picked parts with an eye to eventually run FFXIV at max settings, so yeah, baseline not quite enough.
Congrats man!
Go demo a 3D HDTV if you can. Ignore the salesman. Lean your body left and right as you would if you were watching a 2-hr movie or playing a game for any length of time. It's the quickest way to come to your senses and not buy one.
damn.. that Emerson 40" tv is fuckin $248... i wonder if thats any decent
Hmm, wonder if any of those TVs are good for gaming without the input delay.
PS3 for 200 doesn't look too bad. Wanted to pick one up but my tuition is making it hard to get one.
Where's a good place to watch for a PS3 sale?
more likely to get free shit with it than a ps3 for a discounted price
Anyone know about any deals in regards to iPhones? I've been looking around but haven't seen anything other then guesses so far. Looking to pick up a couple iPhones. The plan is with Sprint atm but it's is up soon and I can switch any carrier if needed for the deal.
Items like PS3s, Xbox, apple products will be normal price. They won't be on sale, per se, but they might include things such as a free $50 or $100 gift card and/or some games. I think the iPhone 3gs is free now with a 2yr contract.
And Archi, those sconces look to be about 40 inches apart with my best guess based on the perspective. I don't know if you'll be able to squeeze a 46" there, maybe a 40". It's a bit high for my liking as well, but it could work.
that is pretty high. gonna be awkward if thats your every day TV
your gf is insane
You could move the lights, get rid of them, or get a different kind?
That room goes to far back, youre going to regret not getting anything thats not 50+ inches.
Very well may replace/remove the lights eventually, they're just cheap flipper home depot shit, but the front door is just out of frame to the right in that photo, couch will be completely in the frame you're seeing there. As far as height goes, there's not really anywhere else to put it, unless we render the fireplace inoperable and set it up right in front of it.
Maybe I'll get a telescoping mount so it can be lowered in front a little when needed and pushed back to the wall when not.
