Logitech G35 Headset on sale.. is it worth it?

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Logitech...=1218069751531

Saw this ad, I might actually go and pick one up. Question though, is it any good? Anyone on BG have one that could tell me a little about it? I want something very loud, and the 7.1 surround it boasts about is a bit convincing.

I have the GX930, which is the wireless version of this headset. Had it for 6 months so far with fairly heavy usage.

Sound quality is great. not the best audio you can get for a headset, but definitely one of the best in a gaming headset. It sits comfortably on my larger than average head and over my larger than average ears. Not once have I had to fiddle with it due to an uncomfortable moment. Microphone is good quality, and I like the feature where flipping it up automutes.

For the price, definitly the best option. The only other headset I would take over the 930 is an Astro one, at triple the price.

SO far so good. Sounds like a buy, but one more question.. does the volume go pretty loud? I want something so loud that I won't even have to turn it to MAX settings.

I actually got a pair for Black Friday last year cheaper than that on Newegg. I recommend waiting.

I don't have mine turned all the way up at all but for me that's never really an issue. I always usually have headphones hovering around 30% or less.

What I enjoy about the headset is the durability. I had problems with two previous headset brands before from them snapping at the joint where the speaker/earpiece met the headband. Went through a total of four headsets, two from each brand. I don't know if I don't take them off/put them on correctly, of if my head is a weird shape, or I'm just rough on headsets (which is odd because I usually take stellar care of electronics). But I switched over to these, and they are by far the most durable headsets I've used. No signs of cracks from stress, no deterioration on cords, etc.

The virtual surround sound is definitely noticeable in what you hear compared to not having it on, so it does something ... but the quality of the surround sound is lower, imo, compared to the Razers with actual distinct speakers (but I also had Razers, and the warranty replacements, snap on me). On that note though, I'm not really an audiophile when it comes to listening to music. I can tell the difference between really crappy earbuds that are normally $2 and under, and brand names for $20 that go on sale for $5.

Picked it up today at my local BB, never going back to shitty headphones ever again. My ears are in love.
