Horriblesubs is just a straight rip, i believe.

This guy (he was going to be the translator for UTW's Nise) grades subs that come out from various groups, he usually says crunchyrolls are well done.
This is true, they don't even encode anything.
Eh Kill Me Baby wasn't nearly as good as I thought it would be I'm hoping it will turn out like Lucky Star where the first episode was a horrible indicator of what was to come.
Nisemonogatari, enraging in the fact that it has four or five times the budget of any other series this season, and probably more than any other series in a long time.
While satisfying at the same time, because of how it looks, due to that budget.
Kill me Baby
It's not great, but I enjoyed it more than I anticipated(I wasn't planning to watch it tho). The art was cute, it made me chuckle a few times and nothing particularly pissed me off (which is always a good thing). I'm not quite sure what people were expecting from this, but I could watch 12 episodes of this.
However, I don't know what kind of mileage they can do with that concept, because something tell me the jokes will get old really quickly.
Rinne no Lagrange
I can't say I hated the first episode because it delivered exactly what I expected from the trailer (generic anime with fanservice, mecha and decent animation). For me, Rinne no Lagrange fall in the same category as Guilty Crown, Index and other shows that I'm not very proud to watch, but can still enjoy once I turn off my brain.
If I wanted to nitpick the plot, I could probably write a 10 pages essay, but I don't care as long as they have decent battles, music, and continue to make me smile a few times every episodes.
Miniskirt Space Pirate
I've been asking for a series that remind me of cheesy '90 space animes for a while, and because of that, I had very high expectation. In that sense, the first episode was a letdown because not much happened, but I still believe it has some potential as long they don't spend too much time at school. Other than that, the art/setting was great, and the animation was pretty good. In the end, my expectation are still very high for this show, but I will need a few more episodes.

Symphogears
It's probably my biggest surprise this season. It was one of the few series I was planning to watch, but had no clue what to expect, especially since I generally hate "idols" and "singing".
The concept worked out much better than I thought, especially with the multiples emotional scenes (what happened in the first 30 seconds was the best thing they could do to catch my attention). The actions was also very fun to watch, and the contrast between the incredibly cheesy battles and the sad stuffs made this show very unique and interesting to watch. On top of this, you also have a great OST (probably my favorite this season).
My only worry is the plot. I will trust them for now since the first episode was good, but I have the feeling that stupid plot twist and development is going to hurt the story. They have to continue with the drama, because they might lose me the second they do.
Symphogear almost feels like it should have just been a movie. I like the concept, but as you said, I'm not really sure it can keep a good story going for a full season. I do still plan on following it, since I don't really have much to watch this season, I just hope it doesn't disappoint after having an interesting first episode.
I couldn't finish "Kill Me baby." I was hoping for it to be like Pani Poni Dash, but KMB is as shitty as Lucky Star.
I did enjoy Space Pirates. I don't expect a good story, but I think it will on the same level as Mars Daybreak or other animes like that.
Yeah I noticed that immediately. Very few still frames, and the animation can be super topnotch. It still has a few moments of a drop in quality but that's expected. Nise looks to be my favorite anime this season, though Amagami SS+ could be a contender.
I don't expect a complex plot, but I do expect a fun story filled with space adventures and likable characters. What I don't want to see is another school animes with slice of life bullshit, but with the "space opera" and "sci-fi" labels on wiki, I'm going to hope for the best.
Yeah. I'm crossing my fingers.
It will be easy to tell what kind of mood this show is going to aim for in a few episodes when we will meet the ship's crew. If they start bringing people back to life, and introduce a cliché villains (ie: evil scientist who is experimenting on Noise), I will be sad.

Not really feeling anything this season apart from the stuff continuing. Kill Me Baby was alright, but entirely too predictable with their jokes. Symphonygears has lovely art/animation, but I feel like there's a lot missing to make it great (or to make me care - shock factor/deaths were weak since they were so forced), but the ending was interesting enough to make me watch episode 2. Space Pirates, I could watch it, but there was nothing gripping about the first episode that makes me care enough to download the second. Lagrange is pretty much the same.
I might just skip a few new shows and let them build up for a few weeks before trying again. So far I am disappoint but it's only week 1.
Aquarion EVOL Ep1 and 2
Well, just caught up with this after marathoning the original, and... it's not bad! Actually, in many different ways, it's superior to the original. The art is clearer, the animation is solid (ignoring the typical QUALITY shots), the music is outstanding (Yoko Kanno), and the cinematography is much better paced and produced than the first. That was actually the biggest failing of first series, the shot structure and pacing was lazy, and tended to fall flat.
While I found some of the CG and forced fanservice to be somewhat distracting and the dialogue/situations to be about as chessy as the average anime, it still has the potential to be great, as long as they attempt to focuse on the plot, the various characters, and the love triangle they're hinting at.

Boobs and implied sexual positions, keep it classy Japan.
The art in that looks really good imo Ker. Did it just start this Winter season? What's the original you're talking about?
That would be Sousei no Aquarion from 2005 (which also had a movie and OVA - the movie is actually same stuff as OVA+ a couple of scenes afaik)
