Zero no Tsukaima F Ep1

There was nothing particularly outstanding about this opener, but I can't deny it exuded a lot of my nostalgia of the series. It was fun and not too serious, and hopefully it keeps on entertaining in following episodes.

Also don't expect any fanservice in the levels of DXD, Mayo Chiki, IS etc. Hell Nisemonogatari had more erotic scenes lol.

Can someone refresh my memory on Colbert. I remember him dying in either the first or second season when the school was attacked by his old second-in-command from the military. But for the life of me I dont really remember anything from the third season. Am i forgetting something from the third season that brought him back to life?

Aquarion EVOL Ep1 and 2

Well, just caught up with this after marathoning the original, and... it's not bad! Actually, in many different ways, it's superior to the original. The art is clearer, the animation is solid (ignoring the typical QUALITY shots), the music is outstanding (Yoko Kanno), and the cinematography is much better paced and produced than the first. That was actually the biggest failing of first series, the shot structure and pacing was lazy, and tended to fall flat.

While I found some of the CG and forced fanservice to be somewhat distracting and the dialogue/situations to be about as chessy as the average anime, it still has the potential to be great, as long as they attempt to focuse on the plot, the various characters, and the love triangle they're hinting at.

Haven't seen anyone talk about Brave10 yet but probably cuz it's all guys and one girl. Girl is still pretty cute tho but damn is she needy. I wrote my thoughts on Symphogear, Mouretsu Pirates, and Brave10 here and lolArea no Kishi.

Nothing has really blown me away this season and judging from everyone's reactions they feel the same way but damn was Nisemonogatari good. Easily the best anime of the season in my eyes.

Anyone else think Nisemonogatari is gonna end up being better than Bakemonogatari? That's what I've been hoping for since I heard about the sequel and that first episode gives me some evidence it might be. What I'm looking forward to is the improved art and animation, the progress with the old characters (and new characters but mainly people outside Araragi and Senjougahara), and the sisters. More in-depth and better writing on my blog:

I'm slowly working on being able to watch raw. But one semester of moon is only going to take me so far. I'm going to attempt teaching myself the second semester and then taking an advanced moon class next year if I have a free spot.

Sounds like fun. If you have a passion for learning the language and a way of keeping it fresh in your mind (anime doesn't really help all that much) then it'll be easy and worthwhile. Good luck with it!

That's what I did although I took my Japanese classes broken over a wide timespan in college. Kinda wish I took more of the classes in Japanese but it really conflicted with my schedule. Hopefully you get more out of it than I did (which was quite a bit fortunately)

Anime, i watch it like said if its decent. Between whats happening and what the characters motion at , its usually not too hard to figure a decent amount.

i usually watch the weekly episode of the series i'm really into raw from nico or otherwise, been doing this since gurren lagann.

barring overly heavy story/dialogue series, i usually don't really need subs that much, i guess 4th year japanese ought to count for something.

Really wish my schedule allowed for more moon classes. Last semester was my 7th semester and it was the first time I was able to fit a class I wanted to take but didn't need to. I probably could have taken the second semester of moon this next semester... but it's at 8:30am mwf.. and my current schedule doesn't have class on monday or friday.. and doesn't have class before 11:45am on wed and 12:50pm on tu/th. Oh well I have the text book, I'll just have to will myself into using it.

Gulk, it's 1 (actually 2) girls and 10 guys. Not 10 girls and 1 guy. This isn't like you D:

If you're going to watch it for sexy Isanami (blue haired girl), I'll just tell you to not waste your time. She really isn't all that fanservicey and the whole bondage/chain scene doesn't show off too much. Plus when she wakes up next to him wearing that robe and shorts (which apparently is nude in feudal Japan) is about as much skin as you'll get.

Now if you're going to watch it for anything else, you might wanna reconsider. It's not that great of an anime but if you're into samurai/fights/bishounen acting all bishounen-like then go nuts.

Am I the only one who thought the ED was the best part of KMB? I usually hate OP/ED "dance", but this one crack me up everytime.

That's what I did although I took my Japanese classes broken over a wide timespan in college. Kinda wish I took more of the classes in Japanese but it really conflicted with my schedule. Hopefully you get more out of it than I did (which was quite a bit fortunately)

I wish I had taken Japanese while I was still in college proper so I could have taken full advantage of the program and done a semester abroad, even double majored. I took 4 semesters of Japanese language (and an etymology interim), but not until after I graduated and was working.

I'll agree that watching anime isn't an ideal method of learning Japanese, but it does serve to keep the tone and pacing of the language fresh even 6 years after my last class. OK, I feel really old after typing that last statement. Listening to music also helps me. Anything to keep the sound of the language familiar. I feel the same as avelle in that I really do want a firmer grasp of the language, but making time in my schedule would prove a bigger challenge than the actual learning. I have educational benefits working at U of R, but Japanese classes are only offered during work hours so it'd take a bit of finagling with my schedule, not to mention I'd probably have to start over since the program structure and material probably will differ from my undergrad experience.

Am I the only one who thought this was the best part of KMB? I usually hate anime "dance", but this one crack me up everytime.

I liked the episode as a whole, but the ED was definitely good. Totally made up for the OP which wasn't nearly as as bad the second time around.
