I never watch raws, mostly because I don't have that much time and I'd rather not watch something twice and can wait longer for some decent subs.
I think the only episode I watched raw recently was a Soul Eater one.
I don't watch raws because I don't give a fuck about japspeak. I ain't gonna watch it not knowing what the fuck.
This is about the same reason I don't watch raws. I understand enough that I wouldn't have a problem with most of the language, but the words I didn't understand would bother me (what are they saying? did I miss something important?) looking up words in a dictionary while watching something would be a total buzzkill.
Ano Natsu de Matteru Ep1
Oh man, that was pretty good. The characters are great, and the situations they found themselves in were wacky and fun. I love the way this show is directed, honestly. It's managed to find the perfect feel for something so off beat.
My only complain the Staff decided to include fanservice in the show from what they usually do such as Toradora, AnoHana, Honey and Clover.
Spoiler: show
^
Helllllllooooooooooo fanservice.
Looks good. Why does it say Onegai Summer OP though? Is that name of the song?
I was only about to find the opening on Aroduc's website and he of course hated it for being simliar to Onegai Teacher(the same writer) so he uploaded it with that name lol.
I love Aroduc and his hatred for many of the popular/terrible anime series (Nisemonogatari, High School DxD, Guilty Crown, New Prince of Tennis etc).
Natsu = Summer, and Onegai is likely a reference to Onegai Teacher, a series from 9 years ago. They both had OP/ED done by I've Sound, same composers, and you can see several similarities in typecasting, right down to the strange little creature. Different studios though. They don't really share any other staff. Can't say much more than that until I see the episode for myself.
Onegai Teacher OP:
If you want to see cute girls in plugsuit, pirate outfit, or magical exo-skeleton-mecha suit, then try Rinne no Lagrange, Mouretsu Pirates, and Senki Zesshou Symphogear.
Another might also be interesting, but I don't think it aired. Might also suck I suppose, but I liked the PV.
Lagrange gave me the Star Driver vibe, way less fabulous though
I just got around to watching Another, and I have to say, I'm impressed with the art/background quality. There isn't a whole lot of animation, but the scenary are beautiful, and they did a great with the horror mood they were aiming for.
Is it worthwhile? It's hard to say yet, but if the first episode was representative of the rest of the show, it should be at the very least a decent horror story.

I sincerely don't see any Star Driver in this. It's not over the top or fabulous, the characters (especially villains) are copy paste from your average anime, and the setting is pretty standard mecha anime.
Fanservice, decent animations, good music and badass mecha battles are the main reason to watch this show.
I finally got around to watching a lot of the stuff that I planned to pick up this season.
Symphogear is a real enigma. The start of the show had me thinking it was going to be terrible. Then I was a little bit encouraged at the middle point, and the end had me really scratching my head.
It had a very Madoka-esque first 30 seconds, potentially showing a tragic end to the series, and all. There's a lot of potential for this one to get grimdark.
Moretsu Pirates is can go two ways, it looks like. It could actually end up being really good; there hasn't been a thrilling space action show in quite a long time if you discount Gundam shows. Or, it could just go the cliche moe/pandering route and disappoint everyone.
Rinne no Lagrange was fantastic. The main character strikes me like a female version of Takuto from Star Driver, but that's where the show's similarities end. The characters are well designed, have (gasp) realistic human proportions and the art/animation is very good so far.
Nisemonogatari is about what I expected, as I think I already said (I forget if I posted about it or not but I'm going to go check after this one). It's nearly incomprehensible, is going to probably have 60% of the content cut out of the TV airing for no legitimate reason, and also has a budget that is potentially several times higher than any other show this season. A very polished, golden plated turd, that is also shaped into an optical illusion that is extremely difficult to point out.

uhhhh....I sincerely don't see any Star Driver in this. It's not over the top or fabulous, the characters (especially villains) are copy paste from your average anime, and the setting is pretty standard mecha anime.

Anyway, I'm just pointing out the main character's way of acting, though I must say "It's a ____" is way better than "Maru"
Did you really bold fanservice, decent animations and music to compare the "vibe" of two animes? Hell, even fanservice felt different. Sexual tension was an important part of Star Driver, where in Rinne no Lagrange, it's your typical gratuitous fanservice that add absolutely nothing.
Anyway, Takuto was relatively shy and calm (ie: he was trying to redirect attention away from himself), and he was aware of many things the viewers didn't know. Madoka on the other hand is loud and clueless about everything. If you want to make an argument that they are both kind individuals who pilots mecha, I suppose you could, but like I said, I really don't see it.
The beach/tropical setting is probably what made people remember Star Driver. That part of the show actually gave me the same vibe.
oh well, it's just something i felt when watching that one episode, not exactly anything concrete to base an analysis of.
