Winter 2011/2012 Anime thread

Yes, they still had a hand in the creation of it, doing the character designs. They are involved, even if the story isn't theirs or influenced by them (or is it?! dun dun dunnn) It could be a way of looking back at what CLAMP has done successfully before and overlaying Code Geass onto it >_>

let's face it 'wonderland' isn't exactly what comes to mind when thinking of code geass....

Well, I'm indifferent to the ending of "part 1" of this show.

There's a lot of really cliche reveals here, but only one that's relevant to me.

Gai admired Shu for being, for lack of a better explanation, a badass when he was a kid.

So when shit got real, he decided that he would become a badass like Shu was.

Now, the cycle repeats itself, with Shu admiring Gai being badass, and Gai telling him to become like he was before.

I would like to hope that the whole cycle ends up with Shu's balls dropping and part 2 being less emo.. they gave Shu his coat, hopefully that has some kind of "manning up" device in it.

I always expected Gai's death to be the turning point for Shu, I wouldn't be particularly surprised if he man it up. I don't think he is ever going to become a badass tho, he is just not going to cry every 5 seconds

I liked this episode for once. It was different from everything else we have seen, and because of that, I was able to ignore most of the stupid shits that annoyed me in the first 11 episodes.

I felt the same way and hopefully Shu continues to get stronger because his emo, whiny little bitch attitude was the main reason I was struggling to keep watching. I was enjoying other parts of the anime but his constant crying was really hurting the anime. I don't get why so many anime have to have little bitches as the "hero", they usually overdo their emo side and take too long to get them to change. Of course the whole, brother/sister/etc incest thing is a little over used as well, hopefully that sits on the back seat and the new guy and Shu have some good fights.

The end of the first episode had really piqued my interest. What a letdown.

I can't say that I'm surprised, but it didn't take long to go back to a standard anime plot. I don't know why they always do that, but having a strong first and last episode isn't enough, you need a good middle that maintain the mood and make the story genuinely good. I'm not saying that I didn't like this episode, it was fun, but it didn't have the charm of the first one.

Animation also went down a little, but it's not particularly surprising since every series do that. The music at least was as good as last week.

Oh well...They still have to explain this scenes eventually! It should make things interesting.

Also, I know I see Xenosaga everywhere, but Noise are totally Gnosis.

Gnosis are entities shrouded in mystery with a definite hostility toward mankind. The Gnosis exist in a unique dimension separate from the physical plane (or real space) called the imaginary space; therefore, it is normally impossible to harm them.

If someone is touched by a Gnosis, they either die by breaking down into salt, or become Gnosis themselves.

Gnosis are human wills who resonate passively with Anima to the point of seeking dispersal and destruction.

Mysterious invincible ghostly monsters? Check.
Turn people into dust? Check.
React to sound and specific wavelength? Check.
They just need to tell us they were once humans and we are set, but we all know it's gonna happen anyway.

And Tsubasa's armor get bonus point for reminding me of Kos-Mos.

Another strong episode this week, perhaps my favourite since the beginning of the show. dispite the fanservice scenes. I actually rewind some parts just to make sure I didn't miss any dialog or line, every line and scene actually feels there for a reason instead of just filler for a full 24 minute.

So from what I've seen so far there is the CrunchyRoll stream rip and then there is a raw which is 2.22 GB. Are either 1080p, what is with the upscaled 720p from CrunchyRoll being served as '1080p' what is the fucking point when it already gets stretched out by the video player? Why are there no TV raws. I seriously hate CrunchyRoll right now.

This. On the 1080p note, Crunchyroll has started 1080p vids for some of their lineup.

Edit: I guess to elaborate
Transport stream is the actual video/feed that gets sent out from the station. Sometimes includes closed captioning, which some groups use to help translate with.

Rinne no Lagrange 2

I liked the first episode, now I REALLY like the second episode.

Without a doubt one of the best MC's in a while, easily the best female MC I've seen in a very long time. So far, at least.
