Also Frank's assist is sort of invincible, since the shopping cart has no hitbox and most melee attacks will just go thru it. Projectiles will rape though.

He kinda sucks outside his assist, but the assist is amazing for pressure games (but it has no invincibility).

He's beast only on point (but he was always beast on point.) However my friend was using Vergil + Strider on the same team. Vergil being able to attack alot faster than me plus Vajra being a very useful tool to keep me in blockstun so I can't punish anything makes for a very uphill battle, even worse than what I had to go through before. However, I'm just salty because I need to relearn shit.

I might learn Spencer because in theory (in my head) Haggar, Dr.Doom, Spencer is still beast as fuck.

Still failing to see what everyone else seems to see in Vergil. He gets slightly above average damage at best without burning tons of meter, has relatively little mixup ability without DT and doesn't have very strong pressure in general.

He definitely has enough tools to be good but I don't understand what's supposed to make him significantly better than the rest of the cast.

I'm up and down on him as well. To add to that, a ton of his shit is unsafe and you need an [GTFO] assist to cover him. He's pretty on par for the course. Apart from that, I can see that people will make him a reset/mixup character soon down the road. He really needs DT + lvl 3 to get damage going however... 4 bars too many.

Hell if I don't love his Gamma assist however

Losing Hyper Sodium Force combos isn't that big of a deal, you can almost always replace it with TK Rocket Punch > Hard Drive or wave dash > Rocket Punch > Plasma. With some assists (like unibeam) you can even still do OTG > Assist > HSF > RP > Plasma if you start off a short combo.

I'd say the real problem is that now you can't do long combos into OTG rocket punch > plasma at all anymore without an assist (and even then only some assists work), nor can you do air rocket punch combos (on point or on exchange). His exchange combo is still better than most, but now it builds like half as much bar as it used to. Doom to Sentinel exchange used to build 4~5 bars for me, now it's more like 2~3.

I've been figuring out some pretty decent replacements to what I used to do with them, so Doom/Sent still works, but it's definitely taking some adjustments and it's not quite as good as it used to be

If it's like SFIV DLC, then it should carry over - but will never get included as part of the actual disc release either. Hence, why I still won't be buying this game.
