Personally speaking, EMP won't go any where seriously even after coming back. Triforce burned a number of bridges, and the FC is becoming more and more open for people to go to sponsorships and make a name for themselves instead of staying small time like EMP. With that said, Remix, DragonGod, Hiro, and Sanford Kelly confirmed for EMP. Dieminion won't rejoin shit like that, nor will Yipes and other OG EMP players.

Extreme bullshit is much much easier to pull off in this game compared to vanilla.

High level play will still be about the same, but alot of the new characters are very very effective with zero skill required, and as a result online is pretty awful.

I'm over the netcode, but I don't think I can play this game online much longer, the entire playerbase is nothing but tierwhores, simple mode Zero/Wesker fags, or Ghost Rider players.

Meh. It'll be the same. In a month or two online will go back to vanilla tactics with a token new character on their team. The ambiguously gay BFF duo you'll probably see less of and that's about it.

Tell you straight up, don't play online unless it's with people you know (i.e. people here or close friend IRL). Not speaking of the netcode at all (which is much better than vanilla) -- rank system in Marvel is just plan shitty overall when compared to SFF4. If you're seriously looking to level up however, play offline, esp at a local arcade. For the very reason I'm flipping excited about moving to Pasadena soon, no more of this online nonsense.

Tier whoring is alright; can't expect everyone to play characters with any amount of skill required. Everyone wants to win, most do it with the best character, with lowest skill required. The best that actually take tournaments make their own teams from whatever they want, however.

My current team is Vergil/Shuma/Strider, but I'm thinking about dropping Vergil for Frank or Iron Man.

Could say the same for a lot of awesome players who break the shit outta games. Sometimes they have QA guys who are just capable of breaking anything (like Desk), but most of the time QA people are just fixing bugs developers find/make, rather than looking for weird shit.
