Just saw the video. Viscant calls Zero the best character in the game because he's been playing against Flocker. Not exactly an accurate measure of skill from the Zero player population lol.

And Viscant was talking about the Wesker "nerfs" from Vanilla to Ultimate. Damn it Dole, you made it sound like he had insider info or something.
Yeah I agree, we should be judging characters' worth based your average XBL player.
Zero has almost no weaknesses. A couple of tracking assists give him trouble and uh, that's about it. He can do pretty much everything and he can do it all well. Once again, the only reason you don't see people complaining about him is because he's not easy. The character is retarded in the hands of someone that knows what they're doing.
I've noticed a lot of people whining about Zero, and Flocker's is usually the first to come up. Using Flocker, to be honest, is a bad example.
In all seriousness, how many majors has Zero won besides Seasons Beatings? Closest one other than SB was Final Round 13 (Marn). More importantly, how many ass Zeros are out there because they hear shit like this but don't have the execution to play him (Zero is sort of execution heavy, depending on what you do with him). I heard someone call him mindless the other day and just shook my head at him. If Zero is so godlike, why is he not consistently in results? Why is he not on Yun status, where everyone and their mother is picking him on point?
Right now, a lot of the whining is for the sake of whining. Nobody is investing time in trying to figure out matchups and will just bitch.
I'm not trying to argue anything about Zero lol. My point was that Flocker is an absolute beast with the character, how many times are you going to come across a Zero like his? Viscant made it sound like it's a dime a dozen like his abcd to abcd trenchcoat shaded hero. Zero is an awesome template on how a good character should be because it takes actual skill to use him effectively.
I don't think anyone's saying Zero is anywhere near being as common or as easy as Wesker. The point is if the game were given time to evolve in its current state then, on paper, Zero is without a doubt one of the best characters in the game. He's execution heavy, sure, but it's not like he's Viper. Nothing he can do is unreasonable to expect from top players, it's just not easy.
Flocker is obviously the best example as an actual player but even ignoring him, you don't have to be a genius to see why Zero as a character is so good.
Love it. I'm using Strider myself as well, so I know the feeling of Zero players on point. Zero & Strider (and Firebrand) are seriously only limited by imagination and match up knowledge. Seen so much disgusting shit with Strider alone. Love it when stream monsters blow up saying hes garbage. They just don't know how broken this nigga is yet. Speaking of that, what set up ya'll think I should use:
PW/Vergil/Strider
Strider/PW/Vergil
Strider/Shuma/Vergil
Vergil/Shuma/Strider
PW/Shuma/Strider
Hitting the lab constantly with Strider and Vergil, so I won't be playing any team yet fully just yet. Shuma is pretty disgusting too, but all of his combos incorporate the use of Mystic Stare, and I don't want to lab that up just yet. Shuma pretty much gets TAC for free too, which allows for easy Objection on incoming PW.
Zero is legit ass character. S tier for sure imo. And again brings up the simple fact that the character is only limited by player imagination. Wesker is seriously like top A tier. Free to many characters, people just need to overcome that X-Factor stigma.
I don't think Zero's the "Best character in the game" simply because of his health lol. But yeah he's definitely S tier![]()
I just hate it whenever I watch Streams and I look forward to awesome Zero play... 4/5 of the time, Zero's dead before he even gets a chance to do anything![]()
Although I do notice a lot of combo strings leave him at 1% life now ;D Yay 30,000 making a difference!
Shooo I think you should go with Vergil Shuma Strider! Vergil because he's a good on point character, Shuma's a good assist/meter builder.. and I'm just so used to seeing Strider as an anchor. Strider's assist is just so good, I don't think it's worth putting him on point.
Since I'll be getting a stick after the holidays, I may be picking this up and learning it alongside SF. From all the streams I've watched, only 3 characters have truly interested me. Dorm, Skrull and GR. How are these guys? Probably not well as a team, but I wouldn't know as I have yet to play a MvC game.
Wesker cracks me up. Decided to learn a semi-flashy X-Factor only combo with him which is coincidentally still easy-mode. I hope he never gets nerfed. <3
Aha, I'll continue to roll with that then! I am learning more and more that Strider can do any position well, just on point you pretty much have to play at the highest level that you can and not be touched. Formation B is the future, can cancel any normal or special into it, then rush to wall cling, ABC off wall, get the ground bounce and Gram or launch, do it all over again.
Gonna start seeing Clockw0rk put Strider on point more often!! He made mention that he wants to show people not to be afraid of putting him on point.
Skrull is amazing and just started taking his place in the sun, so it's a good time to play him. Watch Djhuoshen and hi_im_nasty play him. Just added the stream that DJ is on usually a day ago, so you can check him out. Dorm is pretty legit too -- I'd liken him as S tier as well, even with the Flame Carpet push-back nerf. He covers many bases and one of the main characters that can slow down Wesker shenanigans. Can play him on point or anchor or wherever. I haven't seen many Ghost Riders, so I dunno about him...
Edit: Whoops, Filipino Champ is a very good Dorm to actively watch. Karsticles is extremely informative of Dorm, and always has an interesting posts on the character (and answers Dorm related questions all the time). Can read his Dorm rants on SRK and NeoGAF.
Skrull's always been on the higher end of mid-tier and he got nothing but buffs, so he's a pretty solid choice. He's one of those characters you can completely destroy people with if they don't know how to fight him. Only issue is it takes a while playing him before you get used to making the most of all his tools instead of just meteor smashing everything you see, since all his normals are awful (except for st.H which is godlike) and almost everything you can do is unsafe, including all of his supers.
Dorm is similar, in that he's extremely good but you really need to learn his tools. Basically watch Filipino Champ play him and you'll get an idea of how he works.
Ghost Rider is meh...I don't like him, he seems too simple. He has a few tricks, but I don't think he'll be that great in the long run. If you do play that team, make sure you put him on point, then the other two can go in whatever order.
Edit: Nasty's Skrull channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/NASTYxNATE666 and his guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHHK_YFdINk
Thanks for the tips and watching Hi Im Nastyy is actually the reason I wanted to play Skrull, he makes him look like so much fun.
