I took mine in December last year. One of the most important things is to be comfortable in the room. Dress warm, if you live in the NE or anywhere in the north really, and make sure you get a lot of sleep. Cramming does nothing the night or even week before. You simply cannot learn all the strategies in a week so don't try. Make sure you do real practice LSAT questions if you're not in a prep course, I took testmasters. Make sure you get good sleep all that week because if you stress like I did you'll panic come test day and lose time being unsure if yourself. Similarly make sure you continue to take any practice questions you do in a timed test environment.
Yeah I've been doing real PTs and timing them. How did you do on your LSAT? Did you end up going to law school?
And I can't be the only one on here taking it in December!
I did ok, much worse than the score I wanted. I got a 154 which is right around the median. My first semester actually ends in two weeks after finals. I'm currently attending the University at Buffalo Law School, dunno why the forum blew up my location. I'd like to try to transfer maybe but as a NYS resident my tuition is only 13k a year compared to 42k~ for all the private schools.
Good luck bud, I hope you've studied your ass off. I took the LSATs a little over a year ago (October 2010), and scored a 170.
Why do people say "writing the LSATs" instead of "taking the LSATs"... is it a regional thing? Is the LSAT still paper-based or have they moved on to computer-based testing like the MCAT?
I'm aware of the format, and I wouldn't say the writing is extensive. I took the LSAT in 2006, and did well (not like Mr. 170 above, but above the median score for my administration). Filling in bubbles is more extensive than any writing is, and the writing sample isn't really scored per se... unlike the MCAT (which is also computerized now).
Edit: I was just curious about the "writing" vs "taking" language. I've always said, "Have you taken the LSAT yet?" as opposed to "Have you written your LSAT yet?" I thought maybe it was a regional difference like people saying "standing in line" versus "standing on line."
Eh I dunno, I've always said take myself.
Not LSAT but I just got my GRE scores back yesterday. I'm not sure what my score means since they just revised the test and scoring model
