Slow PC

Anyone else have any ideas?

I guess I'm down to a bad mobo, processor, power supply, or the video card I put in is a piece of shit.

I do have an extra power supply I can test, but I don't think that seemed like it would cause this kinda issue.

run a prime95 test for few hours. Will test the stability of your system and really help you know if the processor is bad.

I should add I did do a 5 hour prime test, and I saw no errors.

As weird as this issue is and you not having any issues with the RAM/CPU -- It may just be the vid card.

I doubt a power supply would be causing the issue.

I'm gonna grab a new higher end video card and start with that, if that doesnt fix it ill base a new build around it. I built this pc in 2008 anyway, so its due.

Put a 6850 in and all seems to be resolved. I guess the old card was going and the fan was the first noticable problem.


That's what I get for trying to be cheap.
