If I go to a courthouse in California currently, and I see a sign posted that says "you may not be married to someone of the same sex", do you think that would upset someone?

Yes, I do believe that would upset people. However, I'm also not asking gay people to change in front of people they feel uncomfortable changing in front of.

Why? What bit of evidence suggests otherwise? The conventional is that people with vaginas are female and that people with penises are male. Only a very small portion of the population could be classified as a pre-op transgender woman. I'm not talking about gender identification here. Identify with whichever gender you want to, that will not, until you have surgery, change your penis into a vagina or your vagina into a penis. Most people expect the penises to be in the male room and the vaginas to be in the female room. It doesn't matter who is fine with what, the expectation is there.

It is easy to see that what you stated is NOT the conventional expectation because not only did your friends think you were wrong, but almost every poster (exception of 2 people now, who don't understand gender, either) has also stated something that is contrary to your belief. I'm sorry that you are wrong, but you are wrong, and you are going to have to accept this before you are able to overcome your phobia of the female dong. Why do you believe people are being forced into anything? Where does this keep coming in from? A sports facility provides two changing rooms. Those changing rooms are labeled based on gender NOT genitalia and appropriate people use those changing rooms IF THEY WANT TO.

You make it sound like a pre-op transgender person can simply walk into the place and say they are and then walk into the changing room of their choice. I am sure in a very embarrassing for them scenario they clear it up with the facility before hand and let them know what is going on. It sounds like you are afraid of rogue penises randomly flying in your face from unexpected directions.

So you are stating that when a man goes to a public bathroom he should not expect that the people at the urinals and the people in the stalls all have penises? That it would be unusual to think that all of those people possess male genitalia? The people in the stalls could easily have female genitalia. Even the people standing at the urinals could, it's not impossible to pee standing up with female genitalia. Do you really think that a guy goes into a public male bathroom thinking "Probably not all people in here have penises"?

Actually no. I said that I would be happy with a sign. I assumed it read "Pre-op transgendered individuals are welcome to use the facilities of the gender they are most comfortable with". I did not say either "Watch out! Pre-op transgendered people may be lurking here to look at you!" or "Pre-op transgendered people are NOT allowed to use this facility." You conjectured the idea of the last two yourself.
