Is it weird the thing I'm loving the most about Aria is the ED?

It's too damn good. Show itself is kind of nice. Kind of interesting at points since I went on a trip to Venice for a week so I recognize certain similarities in the buildings/scenery/etc.

I started Aria a few weeks ago, and loved it (still have 20 episodes left). I can't say I liked the music, but it was fitting at least, and the visual were very good.

Best part of the show is the expression they always make. Make me "dawwww" every single times.

Contrary to you guys I love the music, best part about the show (and I like the OPs a little more than the EDs but I'm a Makino Yui fan). The scenery and feel of Aria is so good though. I need to watch Origination again though, only seen it once through (it was ok).

Looking for some more anime with overwhelmingly powerful male or female main characters, similar to Koukaku no Regios, Isekai no seikishi monogatari, and kaze no stigma.

Sorry, I haven't seen the series you referenced but I can imagine, there are some characters you just go 'wow that guy is unrealistic compared to everyone else'

    Overwhelmingly powerful male:
    Rurouni Kenshin
    Fate/Unlimited Blade Works
    Utawarerumono
    Trigun
    Hellsing
    Dog Days

    Overwhelmingly powerful female:
    Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran
Seirei no Moribito (I think, been a while)
    Madoka Magica
    Lyrical Nanoha
    Haruhi lol

I feel like I might be missing the mark a little bit though, most animes have a good power balance so as to not make side characters pointless, but I'm sure there are ones I haven't seen/thought of that are better for this.

I think Katanagatari counts as well. Though you don't really realize it until right at the end.

awesome thanks! I'll start checking em out. What I'm really looking for is a good laugh when the rest of the characters are dumbfounded as the "hero" displays their power like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...Tk1jA0#t=1076s (sorry shitty dubs only thing i could find) D:

Why is TTGL not on that list of overwhelmingly powerful male? Flinging galaxies at your opponent should be the definition.

Anyway, Trinity Blood is another that I enjoyed. Bad ass main character (remind me of Trigun)

Yeah Kamina and Simon fits the bill pretty well.

I'll throw in Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou, but that's a bit fanservicey

Don't. You might not be able to watch any other anime after.

    Hey All,

I'm new to anime in general and looking for some recommendations. I really enjoy slice-of-life and comedy genres but I would give some fantasy/action etc. a try if it was decent.

Things I have watched recently and really enjoyed include:

    - K-On
    - Working!!
    - Minami-ke
    - Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai

    Thanks!

Was just about to point out that nobody had suggested Minami-ke to the OP, I loved it first time I watched it. Anyway, you should watch:

    - Haruhi
    - Spice & Wolf
    - Mushishi
    - Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
