With gear collector, will disabling storage options prevent it from looking in those places for equipment, or prevent it from storing excess gear there, or both?

Both. Disabling = as far as the plugin is concerned, it doesn't exist.

you really think taking away his plugin api access will stop him? The original yarnball was an exe that did everything without needing plugin info, msjans doesnt need plugin power, ragns is mighty, eh coeds stuf and dusnt afraid of ne thng

Probably the wrong place for this, but a few of my friends tried out the new GC and all instantly crashed POL as soon as they tried to use it. They were too pansy to submit a bug report or ask themselves since they didn't really get any errors or have any information, just "POL.exe has stopped working". Windower version is up to date, at least. Anything supremely obvious that this might be? Does it require the latest Spellcast version (not sure if they're using this or not, tbh)?

Tried out the new GC, but for some reason it isn't putting away my gear. It's only taking out and then stops doing anything once my inventory fills up. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

If it's an insta-crash, try toggling the disableKeyboard/disableMouse settings. Those can crash some people, and they fire as soon as you hit enter.

Yeah I was trying out GC and it took everything out, but when I hit 80/80 Inventory it wouldnt put anything away, and just hung in place, as I presume it was still trying to take things out of my safe but my inventory was full.

Gear Collector is packet based, similar to LightLuggage, which means it bypasses keyboard commands. There was an early version that used keyboard input but this version is exponentially faster so we went with this one.

Isn't this something SE could detect abuse of on their end though? Or is the general assumption that they can't be arsed to do anything that would hinder their playerbase numbers at this point in time?

I doubt many would be able to handle the sheer grandeur of said plugin and live to tell the tale of its greatness.
