    Internet only accessing one site

    Right now I can only load BG (and even it's not completely loading) and no other sites. I'm getting server not found for everything else. I've rebooted pc/modem/router, reconnected.. same issue.

    I've got some suspicious csrss.exe process running in task manager but sadly can't google it. Am I screwed with some virus/malware?

    Thanks in advance for any advice/tips.

    Try connecting modem directly to comp instead of through router. Try ipconfig /flushdns in the command prompt. Check if your host file isn't screwed up, or firewall in ultra paranoid mode.
    Add: can try releasing and renewing your ip with ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew

    All else fails, call your ISP and see if they can find any problems on their end. Follow their level1 support through and see if there's anything.

    Also, check your hosts file in windows (WINDOWS\system32\files\etc\hosts, open it in notepad) and check to see if there's some wonky shit in there, assuming you don't know what the hosts file is and never changed it on your own you may want to see if things are somehow fucking up your internet, the hosts file will tell your internet where to connect to each specific domain and if it's set things like youtube and whatnot to IPs that aren't their actual IPs then you can't access them, google it if you're unsure what I mean (of course if you can't? I don't know how better to explain it at the moment)

    But yeah, could be router having firewall protection issues just trying to only connect to 'safe' sites, could be a few things. ISP should have an ok answer for you if all else in this thread fails.

    csrss.exe is a valid windows process as long as it's inside c:\windows\system32.
    Did you try to ping any server you can't reach from your browser? Is the name resolved to the IP or do you get an error? (you can reach ping by opening a command shell, just type "cmd" into the search/run field of your start menu and then type ping something.com in there and hit enter)
    Grab process explorer from here: http://207.46.140.150/procexp.exe (this is the legit live.sysinternals.com server hosted by microsoft, just already resolved to IP)
    ProcExp is a really pimped up task manager, open it and look for any processes that don't have a company name, and for those, look where the executable file is (hover mouse over process name, you see the "path" there. anything that's inside your profile folder is highly suspicious)

    Another try would be to use a different DNS server for now just in case there's something that messes with it. (what comes now is a rough translation, sorry but i'm on a german windows 7)
    In systray (next to clock in task bar) klick on the network symbol and open the network center. in the active networks list, klick on the blue "LAN connection" link. "Status of LAN connection" should open. Hit properties, mark internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IP v4) and hit properties. set the radio button to "use the following DNS servers" and type in the IPs 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (those are the public google DNS servers)

    And just in case, grab malwarebytes antimalware (http://74.54.247.132/download_malwar...419e98b8861e4/ filehippo mirror, also pre-resolved for you), install it and do a quick scan.

    i need to check out this procexp, because I frequently troll my Task manager, and when people tell me they have a virus, I look in their task manager as well, but it's hard to tell whats supposed to be there since its not my own computer

    The sysinternals tools can be real gems when it gets to finding (and removing) malware ^^ i think i have procexp and autoruns on all of my computers and USB sticks just in case ^^;
    But a word of warning: they are mighty, but should be handled with care. you can screw up even more than you fix when you don't know what you're doing. Especially autoruns can be dangerous when used wrong, cause it lists EVERYTHING(!!) that gets loaded automatically by windows at some point, from system drivers to essential processes that are needed by the windows core!
