It was a very strange game with the 2 early game onside kicks by Purdue (both recovered) and how Purdue's defense managed to turnover a turnover on the same play twice.

I was surprised to see them draw 46k for a low tier bowl game. It actually was kind of disappointing b/c I was expecting to have plenty of empty seats around to be able to have extra elbow/leg room, but they had the end zone upper decks closed off (guessing it reduced capacity to around 50k) so it actually was crowded. I really did like how they have the skyboxes above the regular seats and not between them like in most stadiums. The top of the upper deck there is probably the same distance from the field as the lowest part of the upper deck in Lucas Oil Stadium.

Gonna be pleasing to see Wisconsin exposed by the ducks.

Exposed? Noone is confused about Wisconsin - they're a great offense with a mediocre defense. Which part of that equation is going to get exposed - you think Oregon is going to shut their offense down?

What was the crowd ratio, out of curiosity? And how much did you pay for your tickets?

Having watched a lot of Duck football this year, I can tell you that Oregon doesn't shut down a lot of offenses, at least not quality offenses. Even bad offenses score some points -- UCLA got 31, Washington State 28, Arizona 31; Wisconsin's offense is far better than any of those teams. They're not a terrible defense, but I don't think there's any reason to think the Badgers aren't going to score a bunch of points. If Oregon wins this game, it's most likely going to because Oregon outscores the Badgers.

I would guess it was close to 50/50 in numbers, but I'd say WMU fans were a bit louder, likely b/c the game meant more to them. My tickets were $45. They also had $60 and $30 tickets, but the 30s were sold out. (I'm guessing the closing of the end zone upper decks was strategic to sell more of the higher priced tickets.) Either way, the bigger home games are $65 face value, so the bowl was cheaper no matter where the seats were.

Big Ten/Pac 12 to play 1 cross-conference game for each team in 2017

Sure, this will help limit cupcake matchups in each conference, but I don't like the fact that it will be a guaranteed 10 game slate against a team from a BCS conference, with only 2 slots each year to schedule other teams. It is going to be a bitch to become bowl eligible on a regular basis for the non superpowers in each conference with up to 2 less gimmes.

Define "shut down" - Wisconsin scored less than 28 points 0 times this year. You think Oregon will hold them below 28? Michigan State's defense is better than Oregon's.

8 conference games for the Big 10, according to Jim Delaney. It appears the Pac-12 will stick with a 9-game conference slate.

Unless you're counting Notre Dame as a BCS conference team for Purdue, in which case I see what you're saying, but that still leaves two slots for cupcakes. There's some pretty bad teams in both conferences that are gimmes in certain years (Indiana, Colorado, etc).

I love this personally. Seeing every Big 10 team coming to Corvallis over a 24-year period is something I'm really looking forward to. It'll give me an excuse to get back to West Lafayette at some point, as well, when the Beavers play there. Of course, that might not be until 2041, when I'll be 66, but still, it's something to look forward to after I'm retired.

We do have good defense but overall I think the B1G defense wasnt very solid.. in both Wisconsin and even MSUs schedules We faced some bad Ds. Just saying Oregon could surprise. I'm all for our conference dominating so I truly do hope the badgers can pull it off. Hell, I would somewhat cheer for Michigan to win just so it looks good.

I wouldn't bank on CU staying a gimme for the long term, seeing them like this is so weird, a la late 90's OU.
