Just checked my genome for any of the mutations resulting in CF in my CFTR gene, don't have any. Phew.

Apparently 1:25 Caucasians has some form of the mutation (i.e. they are a carrier), so it's not that unlikely for two people to do the dirty and create a kid with it.

How long will the lungs last, out of curiosity? Does your priority for a replacement set increase since you were successful in obtaining the first?

Could be a year, could be 15 years. It's never really known and I don't know if I have a higher priority over other people. If I go into Chronic rejection they just look at making it as slow as possible. Acute rejection means I'm fucked. I lost my best friend to acute rejection
