This is the dumbest thing ever. fwiw no less, as people might have noticed I've been obsessing on the muppets ever since I heard about this movie. In one interview I read that the whole "buy out an old studio to drill for oil" was something that either happened or was attempted at some point (I forget the details...read to many interviews). So it wasn't even something completely far fetched in the first place.

Simpsons did it in the episode where Mr. Burns attempted to drill under the school. Nobody calls the Simpsons communists.

I actually went to my ex's Pentecostal church with her for about six~eight months, and I no shit heard sermons that directly attributed the Harry Potter books and Lord of the Rings directly to Satan, and that reading them (or the "fantasy" genre in general) was "strongly discouraged" as being a fount of evil (I heard this actively preached at least twice in a 6~8 month span). I introduced that same ex (I only actually have the one ex anyway <_<) to the Wheel of Time, which she loved the first few books of. Around midway through the 3rd book or early on in the 4th she told me she was having dreams of a burning wheel and that they were visions from God and something about how they were terrible she couldn't read the WoT anymore, and that I shouldn't read it either. (She later recanted that, and stopped going to that church, once I convinced her that they were fucking crazy and taking her along for the ride, but all the same it did happen.)

I consider myself a religious person and a Christian, and although I'm not great at practicing it most of the time, certain of my beliefs tend to be directly related. But holy shit, some people really are just batshit fucking insane, and religion just makes them worse.

It's one of the reasons I don't really understand why people watch Fox seriously. It's essentially an extremist version of a news channel that makes no attempt at hiding it's own agenda or bias, no matter how irrational, ridiculous, and/or outright hateful it can be. Mainstream media is all pretty bad nowadays, but Fox is seriously in it's own league of stupid.

Also: even as a fairly conservative fellow, I was glad there was no desk in front of me to slam my forehead on. I made it through the first 7 minutes, but there's a reason I don't watch Fox News, or MSNBC for that matter. American politics is a cess pit of retardation on "both" sides (because modern American news tells me there are only two sides to every issue!), and it really doesn't matter if you're conservative or liberal, you're not represented. And God help you if you're independent, because odds are pretty solid that you're not getting the fiscal conservativism and social liberalism you're interested in.
