Thank God I went to see this at the cinnebar, being buzzed made all the plot holes tolerable. In my book any transformers movie without Shia is a better movie. Tired him screaming "OPTIMUSSS!" and "BUMBLEBEEE!"

These movies have the emotional range (and understanding of such) of a 12 year old. There were a lot of parts that just don't make sense but I'm pretty sure the goal was to move onto something else so fast or have something else blow up before you had time to think. Yeah, definitely need a few to be able to enjoy the movie for what it is.

The visual effects for the newly made transformers did look kinda weird. That scene where the my little pony turned into a gun might have been the most cringe worthy.

The movie was horrible... utterly bad. And this coming from a guy who has alot of leeway on what he finds entertaining. I feel asleep for like 20 mins, woke up, movie was still going...

It was like michael bay had 47 different things he wanted to do, and didn't care if they made sense in a story progression way. He litterly mashed up junk and made it look pretty. But the "pretty" was to much... like you couldn't even focus on the special effects because they were just everywhere...
1.5/5 was rough.

• The first few fights are interesting, but they quickly become the same ol' same ol'
• Mark Wahlberg instead of Shia Labeouf
• Kelsey Grammer (even if his character is a stereotype)

The Bad

• The daughter's entire purpose (story wise) is to have daddy issues until she suddenly doesn't because he may die.
• Her boyfriend is obnoxious for the sake of being obnoxious. Until the end of course when they all get along because they almost died.
• My little pony turning into a gun CGI, must've had an intern do that part
• Optimus declaring he will kill people, and actually doing it. I didn't grow up on this series, but that still seemed totally out of character.
• Dinobots are shoehorned in, and that's being generous

The fuck just happened?

• So Transformers killed the dinosaurs 65 million years ago... 65 million years ago. And in that time... Transformers tech doesn't seem to have changed much...
• Optimus is partially repaired when Cade helps him, but is totally renewed when he scans another truck... couldn't have just done that before?
• The first time they run into Lockdown there's a big chase which ends in one of their friends dying from a grenade or something, and then Lockdown just lets them go. I mean they just left in a truck seconds ago and the lamborghini can't catch up?
• Optimus suddenly has booster rockets on his feet at the end of the movie. Those couldn't have possibly been useful at any other point in the movie.

I'm sure there's more.

I dislike a lot of movies, but this was tolerable. Yes, there are giant plot holes, the movie dragged on about 45 minutes too long and the Dinobots are only in the movie for 15 minutes. Even so, it blew 2 and 3 out of the water. The reviews about this movie are just a bunch of people jumping on the Michael Bay hate train. The sheep will always follow the herd. And sometimes you just need to see a bunch of shit blow up.

Optimus hasn't been giving fucks about kills since Transformers.

Of note is that fight against the Fallen where he straight rips dudes face off then punches a hole in him and soulcrushes his spark. Oh and shooting a wounded Sentinel in the head twice while dude screams "Nooooo!" which is hilarious in terms of how brutal the 'hero' seems in comparison to defeated villains. Poor Megatron gets his face scarred with his own rifle then gets straight decapitated by Optimus.

The Good:

The dude from Silicon Valley. When he said Optimus was bought with his money so he owned him I was seriously expecting him to say "I own 10% of him"

The Bad:

The wife was upset with the amount of unprecedented cussing. Up until this one it was pretty much limited to the hard to understand Skidz and Mudflap. And while I would personally rather have my kid drop the F-bomb 1000 times over having them say something hurtful like "you are stupid" once, they are at that age where they repeat everything and that causes problems at school from time to time.

I don't know if I saw this right....but it sure looked like Marky Mark totally used that alien gun to block the sword attack from the main villain during the final fight. He was laying on his back and the guy swung at him two times and instead of dodging he just holds up this weapon and stops its swing cold? Ridiculous.

Having said all that the kids did like it and I thought it had its moments too. The whole family left with a headache/nausea though. Probably from the constant effects.

Was the amount of product placement in this movie worse then the other movies? The car shots were always there but the Marky Mark drinking a bud light, the giant victoria secrets bus getting center screen positioning, etc. seemed way more then usual.

John Goodman as an autobot was the best. The movie was throw away CGI fluff. See it stoned.

John Goodman was awesome. Most of the movie was plot hole after plot hole and 99% of the human interaction shit was garbage and took from potentially more Dinobots time. The Dinobots seemed like a complete afterthought. Kids loved it but like many have specifically mentioned it was a bit hard to watch as an adult that grew up on this and I was obsessed with Dinobots as a kid.

I couldnt have said this better myself. Luckily I watched this by myself because I caught myself raging at the screen when He scanned the truck and became fully restored. Dinobots really disappointed me. =/

Also: "My face is my warrant" somebody shoot the guy who wrote that line please
