Nope, my link broke so I'm in the dark as well. The latest report was that there is a Volkswagon Bug speeding up I-81 with something over the license plate. That's all I've heard.

Also, most of the gunshots that people have heard have apparently been other things. One report was the garbage being picked up, another in Johnson was someone... knocking on a day. Freaking woman's dorms.

They still haven't found him. Based on info in the CT's Twitter feed (here) it kinda sounds like he might have jacked a car and taken off (they mention looking for a maroon Mitsubishi). The last email update said that reports of other activity around campus were unfounded (though they did investigate them).

Only time I've been to Va Tech was as the biggest track meet I've ever been to, had Alan Webb there (when he was in HS still) too. It was a great time and I loved the entire trip.

On campus. Whether or not it has anything to really do with VT is up in the air. There was an armed robbery in Radford (~20 minutes down the road) that might be related.

Far as rape...it -is- exam time, so maybe professors, but I'm fairly sure the coaches are all cool (we had a luncheon today...free food! what student doesn't like free food?)

having attended VT from fall 200-spring 2002, I can say Im shocked about this. After the 2007 massacre, the school really went crazy with security. The worst thing that happened while I was there was some dumb drunk kid fell off a balcony and died.

It is sort of in the middle of nowhere and if you go off campus, it is all townies. I guess some would consider that depressing?
I had some of the best experiences of my life there, however. I think some people are just messed up in the head.
