As much as I wish to hate you Ragns... anyone spreading the love for BMD is a pretty cool guy.
Give me any style Castlevania game with this as soundtrack and I'll first day buy it.
I was wondering if anyone would agree that if they tried another 3D castlevania, may it be whatever style, but give it Devil May Cry 3(4) style combat?
Essentially, combine the vast exploration of post-SOTN games, but with DMC combat system in a 3D environment. With the vast variety of weapons/subweapons/transformations available it should make for a fun game.
DMC got the combat right, in general, but areas were very limiting, interaction/exploration wise. I understand that it'll take some colossal effort to make such things, but Castlevania got exploration right, but most games (from my experience, post SOTN; Metroidvania only games) were a little too easy to cheese through.
Just a minor fanboi dream =p
speaking of, picked up LoS the other day, DLCs worth getting?
It expands the story for the sequel, so yes. But don't play them till after you beat it anyways.
of course
Thinking of giving LoS a shot as well. Any appreciable differences between the PS3 and XBOX versions?
Man, I haven't thought about BMD in a while. Thanks for the links, gonna re-download and re-play it when I get the chance now.
I liked his Castlevania vids
I'm of the opinion that Castlevania should be like Zelda where it's vaguely the same world, but not. Throw continuity out the window and just say, "Dracula's back, here's the story, go kill."
They could always do the one thing fans have been requesting since for-fucking-ever. The 1999 Demon Castle War with Julius Belmont. That's like the most important damn thing and we still haven't seen it. Also how fucking badass would Julius be in his prime? God damn make it happen.
They should never put it into a game.
The Crystal War and every other vidya war ever was better when you only read/heard about it and never got to see it.
I got to thinking along similar lines after my earlier post, which transitioned to a Wii game with motion controls. Not sure if it excites me, but performing some moves in LoS just made them impractical to pull off with the required button combinations where motion controls could feasibly make them easier. The 'chuck could handle sub-weapon use, then.
Sorry to derail back to BMD but the english patch doesnt work for me O.o when i extract the translation the .exe does goodbye![]()

Konami's European Production Studio head and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow producer, David Cox, isn't much for ambiguity in his tweets. "Today and tomorrow I am in the land of Dracul... What am I doing there?? You will see...." he wrote earlier today. Despite his teasing, Cox wouldn't tell us anything beyond "No comment."
This is hardly the first indication of a sequel to 2010's Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and it seems likely that Konami is once again working with Spanish studio MercurySteam. One employee posted the teaser image seen above to his website back in late January, specifically pointing out the connection to Konami.
Another staff member, taking to Spanish radio (via Eurogamer ES), mentioned his involvement with a sequel in late 2010 (though it's possible he was just riding high on the first game's then-recent debut). Konami's official line on the matter is ... well, nothing. The publisher hasn't made a peep regarding a new Castlevania.
Regardless, with PAX East just a few days away and the upcoming preview season, we expect it won't be long before Konami's tune changes. We'll keep an eye on Cox's Twitter feed as well, just in case.
I thought LoI was great, just too short.I haven't played it but that's essentially what Lament of Innocence was.
Been thinking about finding a copy, it got decent reviews and looks interesting enough.
Plus Leon's coat was awesome.
