Looking at the early demos it looks like they were gonna do something within the MGS4 over the shoulder control scheme and spent a kabillion dollars figuring out that making an intentionally awkward shit combat experience was appropriate for encouraging the player to rely on stealth (or tranquilizer darts) but not for playing an incongruous as fuck animu fantasy ninja, so they ditched the entire premise and made a cartoonish particle spammy onimusha with quicktime events in a month or two.

That is the situation for sure, but having a reason to believe in something hardly makes it blind faith. If MGR sucks, I'll be just as critical and honest (and if I can't be, I'll know I'm a true fanboy) as I would for something like DmC. But until they show me they aren't worth my time or respect, I'll continue putting my faith in P+ in the hopes of getting more games I enjoy. Is that dumb? Yeah, maybe to some, but I don't give a shit.

Perhaps it's a mistake to be overly enthusiastic so early without a director or more footage, but I seriously don't have a reason to doubt P+ right now. I can respect that people want more than that, and ordinarily I would want more too, but on the flip side it's easy to understand why people would be excited.

The only point I'm disagreeing about is the blind faith part. I'm saying I have a reason to believe in P+, and that reason is their track record. Additionally, while it may or may not be obvious or vocalized much, this is the reason people are excited about it. People liked Bayonetta and they liked Vanquish, so what reason would they have to be so cynical?

I personally like getting excited about games. I could be all cool and aloof, but fuck that. If it still doesn't make sense then fair enough, I guess we're done.
