fuck.... i wasn't gonna buy this
played demo twice last night
guess im buying it now
literally was one of the best demos ive ever played,
day 1 buy.
dat music getting more intense as the fight with the robot dog progresses, awesome
The music was pretty amazing, fit the action very well. Why can't all spin off and reimaginings be as good as this game?
No idea, I never imagined that blondie over here can become this badass
I feel for him though. Dude just got done returning to his family and now he's gone full robocop. Hope they go into this during the game.
Everything with even minimal Kojima involvement seems to turn to gold. Like Lords of Shadow turned out to be amazing once he was consulted and the storyline was incredibly well told imo. I hope the story in this one is up to par.
I just realized this takes places years after mgs4. Snake is dead =( wonder if he'll visit his grave or something. If they put a scene like that in the game I might just bawl.
I get the impression that the story is gonna be pretty far removed from most prior MGS characters and elements that don't directly involve Raiden and his childhood (which was never really developed). The shift from being an inter-quel to a stand alone sequel was to allow them more flexibility with the plot elements.
I doubt Snake will be referenced much or at all unless Kojima already knows what he may or may not do with him in the future, afaik he's not assumed to be dead at the time the game takes place.
Forgot the game originally was to explain how raiden got his body in mgs4.
If the game takes place at least 2 years after mgs4, snake should be assumed dead. Would be real lame if they don't make a satisfactory explanation of why he left his family to go play mercenary.
It's actually 4 years after MGS4, and yea it would be safe to assume that Snake would be dead by then based on the impression we're given at the end of 4 but Kojima never met a plot hole he couldn't nanomachine his way out of.
I just don't think he'd want to include much about Snake in a game he didn't craft himself.
Yeah, Kojima said he doesn't want anyone handling the Snake character other than him. Unless Kojima is behind it, I doubt he'll make an appearance.
And Big Boss tells him to live the rest of his days as a man and not Solid Snake, so if he does show up, I don't think it'll be mission related.
It'd be kinda weird to not have any cameos in the game though. Doubt a snake, but at the least Otacon or something of the sort. Not that theres many people left alive to have cameo with by the end of MGS4. The entire cast either directly or indirectly responsible for pretty much everything going on in Revengance; at the very least the technology in use.
He's still the executive producer and wrote the script. I figure when he handed the development over he didn't want someone else fudging with his insanely intricate canon but he didn't want it to bog down and limit what Platinum could do with the game either.
Considering the sheer amount of themes/memes/in-jokes/gimmicks in the MGS series there's plenty to draw from without needing to bring in old characters.
I do believe it was said somewhere that Sunny would have a part in the game, so we'll see. Kojima might just be keeping any cameos in the dark to keep the surprise factor intact.
When the game finally comes out, people with bring the game home and play the first level, but then Raiden leaves inexplicably. You then find yourself in control of Snake and the title screen "Metal Gear Solid 5" will appear.
