Prior to taking on its current form, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was titled Metal Gear Solid: Rising, and was in development at Kojima Productions. Unfortunately, Kojima Productions’ development team failed to deliver the desired level of quality, and series creator, Hideo Kojima had to look outside his studio for help. Eventually, he turned to Platinum Games.

At Platinum, the project was rebooted and re-titled Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and at his Penny Arcade Expo talk today, Kojima revealed where the “Revengeance” part of the game’s title comes from.

“Revengeance” comes from Kojima Productions’ desire to get revenge or vengeance on the original failed Metal Gear Solid: Rising project, Kojima shared. The “Re” part of the title represents a “rebirth” of sorts for the project—a second chance. “Rising” on the other hand represents samurai and Raiden’s rise to power.

White Raiden = Equips the old armor from MGS4 to battle. Happens during the prologue.

Black Raiden = The new cyborg body he now dons after getting his ass kicked while in the old armor. Rebuilt to be stronger.

Konami has canceled the 360 version in Japan. U.S. version is still on atm.

The game has Kojima written all over, I was expecting something more bayonetta but Kojima managed to whore the fuck out of PG, mah nig

The way Raiden moves is so fluid and beautiful. Dante in the new dMc looks stiff as fuck compared to it. Can't wait for this game.
