I enjoy aspects of EDM. I can barely get into Bassnectar, due to the woomps/noise/sounds, but I really don't see how anyone can like Skrillex at all; unless they are just huge From First to Last fans or a female.

If you think Skrillex is a good representation of all dubstep, I can see why you'd say that.

It's a pretty wide subset, and the stuff he puts out is only a small portion of it, albeit the most popular at the moment.

I don't hate all techno.. I really like some older stuff the prodigy, daft punk, fatboy slim, crystal method, chemical brothers to name a few but i haven't really found 1 dubstep song I can stand and I have friends who've tried to show me a bunch of different ones.. sometimes they start out good but then they just get silly. and ftr I love bass... I have had subs in all of my cars since I started driving, I drive around with a ridiculous JL audio 12" W7 in my '05 accord and my wife hates it

Dubstep has become popular and Skrillex is a major part of it Just like David Guetta is to House. Both these guys don't truly represent the genre, just a face for it. What pisses me off is that a lot of dubstep "fans" have no appreciation for any other forms of Electronic Music. But they force feed you dubstep thinking its the most amazing, 1337 genre in the world. Also a lot of hipsters seem to enjoy dubstep which fuels the fire.
