Fucking yes @ the Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim pic. I don't understand how a game that came out almost 10 fucking years ago can have 10x as much content as a game that came out a few months ago. Fucking game industry has stopped fucking trying anymore.

I've not played any of the games, but from an outsider's perspective, map size doesn't exactly correlate to more content.

A single guild questline in Morrowind was longer than several guild questlines in Skyrim put together. And there were like 10ish guilds/factions in Morrowind, there are like 4 in Skyrim.

EDIT: That's only one of many aspects where Morrowind has way more content than Skyrim.

I blame it mostly on the fact that people want super pretty games and judge based on graphics more than anything else.

Either that or the "This is too hard Q_Q" reaction. I just finished a few "dungeons" in Skyrim and I was left with a feeling of "that's it?"

Except the problem with that is that Morrowind had amazing graphics for it's time (aside from the npc models). So what exactly is the excuse these days?

You can also blame marketing. Marketing can't sell complex dungeons and story depth in trailers and screenshots, so whoever's in charge ends up demanding whatever looks prettiest. People eat it up, and the cycle continues.
