that is a self answering question. of course someone that is motivated to fill their free time with possibly lucrative endeavors is going to enjoy more financial success. and of course people content with where they are or unmotivated to change it won't. maybe the next thing you can look into is life coaching or taking over captain obvious' job.Haha, not for a grade, just for general interest. I had a conversation with a friend about people who tend to be successful compared to those that work lower end jobs, and coming from a tech perspective (both of us are programmers), we had agreed it boils down to how you manage your free time, but I'm not 100% sold on that, so I wanted to see if it is true.
^ important question. Also, what do you define as being a successful person - money, job title, letters after your name, fame, personal happiness, family happiness, ...?

Spend it with my family. When I'm not doing that, I'm trying to spend as much time as possible with my wife and three kids. Lately I've been working evenings at work, so when I get home at 11pmish at night, everyone's asleep so I crank out some Battlefield 3 or nostalgia bomb myself with my PSP and some Final Fantasy. I typically work more than anything though so I suppose I do most of my best hobby stuff at work (Dresdin Files on the can, anyone?).

@ Ferion Not Seno but I`d recommend "Reality Knowledge and Value" by Jerome A. Shaffer one of the first books I read on Philosophy. A good introduction to Epistemology ethics and some metaphysics. Another introduction book; "Philosophy the Basic Issues" this one is longer and covers the three above mentioned topics but also delves into the existence of God, Immortality, how one relates to the state and society and touches on some existentialism. Philo.and Basic Issues is written more so to a college student(I am assuming you are a college grad or post) that is why I picked it up and enjoyed most of it(havent finished)
In high school I picked up "Introducing Logic: a Graphic guide" Pretty decent beginners guide to Logic. Finally, since I like the philosophy of Existentialism(not saying you would just passing it on) I would recommend Oxford University Press Short Introduction series of Existentialism. Really good read if you happen to agree with the philosophy. And if you do then I would suggest reading "the existentialist' by James Collins.
Hope it helps.
