You are mistaken, if the government operated within a strict budget any type of tax favor/benefits would have to be met with immediate tax hikes. Not only is raising taxes a political suicide in most cases, it takes a amazing amount of political will. So the two are very much connected.
Ooohh, charts. Love me some charts.

God damn that shit is so stupid and you post it like every week.
It's true. A lot of people believe the whole magic guy in the sky concept a bit ridiculous, but feel quite taken in by the social concept of religion. The kind of people who go to church for the conversation and coffee after the ceremonies.
13 pages, and no one has made the remark that Ron Paul vs Generic Republican Candidate is an 0-10 matchup without Derp Factor?
I don't see anything wrong with his religious beliefs as long as he strictly keeps it out of his policies/politics, which he more or less has. The closest I've seen him come to this is saying that he is /personally/ against abortion, but would want it to be left as a state issue rather then a federal one, which is consistent with his entire ideology. e.g. He' also /personally/ for nuclear power, but has said he wouldn't support it federally.
Are there any better examples?
Did I miss the talk about the debate? I find it odd nobody is discussing it.
I turned it off once Romney started talking about increasing the military.
I'm so conversative that most republicans make me rage, but I find it funny that republicans think they have a chance of winning this election. Obama is going to win because of the black vote - the same black vote that was galvanized in 2008, but failed to materialize at the polls in 2010 (incumbent always looses ground in the house/senate, etc etc).
And don't take that as a racist comment, I think the enduring legacy of Obama won't be a bailout or obamacare, but the fact that his excellent speeches and black skin tone helped bring a demographic of voters to the polls that were disinterested and non-participatory before his campaign (blacks and voters under 30).
The only republican that can win this election isn't running, and no, I don't know who that might be, they are all going to lose.
I think Ron Paul is the only one that has a chance against Obama. But it could also be a landslide for Obama vs Paul, lol. I just think he's so different from the rest of the field that we won't really know if he'll be accepted in or outright rejected if he gets to the final dance. He isn't Obama, so he gets that vote, and his "I'm not the politician everyone else is and I have the record to prove it." can really fuck up the "Change you can believe in." speech because Paul has a far better track record when it comes to all that.
I think despite the polls Obama will beat any "just another Republican" but Paul isn't, and we won't know if he can get accepted by the media/population if he's given the chance vs a president people are largely unhappy with.
Comment on race / black vote is retarded but I cbf'd arguing with it.
Mitt Romney wouldn't have a bad chance against Obama really, he's been pretty good at the debates so far. Republicans would vote for him purely to defeat Obama, and with his romneycare background some liberals might even switch over, given the disappointment with Obama's profound weakness through his whole term. Plus he has the face of a presidentNewt would lose, he's just so inherently unlikable.
Ron Paul would be best by far, but I have the feeling that even if he does win the nomination by some miracle, Newt or one of the other low-moral candidates might run independently just to split the vote and give Obama the election, I'm sure corporate America would happily compensate him for the trouble. ~_~
