Ron Paul has been voted into congress 12 times, thats 12 times more then Donald Trump who claims RP has not won anything before....
He has 70%+ of the votes in his district, and he is against FEMA which his district recives alot of aid from... There is a reason he keeps getting reelected.
He wants to eliminate 5 departments, he gets more Gov votes then anybody else in the GOP field, completly contradictary. He wants to end the wars, he gets more money from active duty soldiers then all the other candidates combined ( including obama ).
I say fuck it, vote for him and let's see what happens. No one is going to do any better that's in the running, not a single one of them. If he's full of shit he's full of shit, and if he's not then I'd rather stick to the Constitution at this point than worry about anything else.
Shit is fucking 1970's Great Britain right now. Collapse of the evil empire.
If someone dislikes neoliberal policy, but likes social democratic policy or ordoliberalism, why would they vote for a libertarian?
I think the point is rather that on paper, Ron Paul doesn't seem like he can be bought. If he was elected, he may not be the best man, he may have some ideas that aren't great, but he can't be bought. In the future that may encourage more people like him to run, countered to each other, and present legitimate candidates who can't be bought and therefor may actually represent the american people.
I think the idea that america's institutional problems can be solved by the virtues of a single man is very cute. Let me ask some Obama supporters how that worked out for them.
Yeah, people had faith in Obama. But when we found out that the Junior Senator from Illinois who was in office for 1 term, became the President of the US, changed his promises to stop wars, not increase the debt ceiling, and stop the "business as usual" approach with lawmakers and lobbiest, then he found out that he had made too many promises that he could not keep. He was obviously backed by the political machine, and financial institutions based on donations to his political campaign.
When you look at Paul, you see a person who has been on, fundamentally, the same message by following the Constitution. He has stuck with his guns on every issue, and when you think answers out, despite how it may *seem* irrational, there is rationality. Take for instance on the issue of abortion. Personally, I think a women's body is her own, however, a zygote is not a fetus, and a 1 month old baby is not functionally a self sufficient being. This point falls in line with Johnson's point of view.
However, the reason that Paul advocates that life begins at conception is the notion that if a doctor or anyone commits any act that might affect the fetus, it can be argued that it is negligent and almost murder in the eyes of the mother. Yet, Paul will not promote abortion through federal funds, but allow the issue be handled at the State level. This is how he can keep his personal views but allow the States handle the issue on their own.
I get the Poe's Law headrush when I listen to people talk about Ron Paul.
Nero burned Rome, but he was only one man. I'm not arguing he can solve all the countries problems, I'm arguing that he isn't inherently evil (on paper) and backed by money belonging to the same people who have backed politics for the last century.
Nero didn't actually burn Rome. Rome was a city with a lot of wood in a time when your lights were generally fire. It burned about once every other decade.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Fire_of_Rome
geez then, we must all be wrong then since there was a fire about once every other decade in rome.
your penis is small byrth
Shit, if he gets the nomination and I can't come up with a better write in candidate I'll vote for him just because I dislike Obama that much right now.
Side Note: I live in MA where not voting D is pretty much throwing your vote away anyway.
Yea, the more I read this shit the more I'm thinking "Fuck it, everyone vote Ron Paul, give the guy a shot, and watch the Dems and Repubs cry a fucking river".
edit: Seriously, I would vote for Paul just to watch the other assholes cry.
What else is being offered to you that it really matters?
lol I been saying this repeatedly. I don't agree with Ron Paul on alot of things but the media hates this guy and corporations obviously don't want him elected so there must be something good coming off him.
The rage from both parties would be extremely amusing. I can only imagine the backpedaling and/or frustration from people like Romney or Trump.
