LOL. Not half as bad as Herman Cain's royal fuckup on that topic.

I was gonna say, leaving it up to the states doesn't really make it "pro choice" what a fucking co-out.

Kuya's hatred is almost as pathetic as (i won't reveal your character name) Test123's championing.

Kuya also gets a freebee in that he doesn't get to vote for anyone whether he'd want to or not.

Hate is a passionate thing, much different than the skulking you seem to do in this thread, leaving one to wonder whether you just don't care about what you believe in or if you lack the tools to defend it.

if you really wanted to, you could go to the moon.

I would think his dislike of our politics is more than enough to say he wouldn't want to.

I interpreted your original statement as it being impossible for him to ever vote regardless of circumstance, which is incorrect (he has the ability to vote if he lives on the mainland, Alaska, or Hawaii).

You can vote in PR, it just doesn't mean anything as it pertains to the Presidency.

@Ksandra I realize that. I assumed (based on your wording) you didn't know there was a situation where he -could- vote (him moving) seeing as I've come accross that misconception quite a few times (that being from pr means you can't vote even if you move elsewhere). I wasn't clear enough in what I was trying to say, sorry.

Japan, pre Capt Perry and his blackships is isolationism. North Korea is Isolationism. There is a small island in the south pacific that runs off all those who set foot on its country and will not have communication with the outside world, still to this day, that is isolationism.

Not choosing to go into wars and fund multiple countries is NOT isolationism. What RP proposes is non-interventionism.

With regards to gay marriage, I am pretty sure he is staying out of the issue that forces the churches/State to accept gay marriages but still allows them to have unions: http://www.nomblog.com/16797/
Which pisses off the anti-gay people on the Right.

I can't really see the "Fuck it, vote Paul!" line of thinking working. As is, we wound up with Obama, only for the Republicans to seemingly do everything in their power to inhibit him with the Democrats themselves not being 100% on issues. So, instead of having a guy at least one side likes, you propose putting one in that neither likes and presume the ills Obama faced wouldn't happen. Now, could this be spun that the current Ds and Rs aren't worthy of office? Sure. It could also be spun that Paul, as a result, winds up one of the worst presidents in history perhaps to no direct fault of his own. Checks and balances, blah blah, veto, fillibuster, etc. etc., people don't want 4 more years of shit not improving, or even getting worse as a result.

Really, I'd love for a giant reset button with emphasis of putting people into power with money out of the system, stricter term limits, less religion, and younger people more in touch with how the world really is at the moment. The rich geezers will never give it up, though.

I just want to point out that nobody forced Obama to continue the National State of Emergency, along with the extreme powers it grants to him. Nobody is forcing Obama to sign the NDAA. "Fuck it, vote Paul" is no different than "Vote for Obama because he's the lesser of two evils". Obama isn't the lesser of two evils anymore, as far as I'm concerned, because "what he claims" and "what he does" are two different things.

I'm not voting for him, but as President, Paul would probably have enough power outside of the checks and balances to greatly reduce foreign military spending and end the 11 year long (assuming Obama extends it again next year) National State of Emergency. He could possibly at least shift the direction the country is headed in (indefinite war, blatant oppression in the name of safety and security, blatant censorship tools like SOPA, etc.) and make more taxpayer money available domestically.

I may not be a fan of his belief that everything should be determined and governed by each individual state (which is where all of the "he's for this" and "he's against that" bullshit comes from), but I also don't believe he'd have any power to actually make that happen, and he could very likely do those other things (which are immediately pressing issues) which none of the other candidates, including Obama, are willing to do.

Edit: By the way, when I said I'm not voting for him, it's because I still plan on writing-in. But I'm starting to come around to the possibility of it, mostly because of the argument that I just gave.

Actually, that is a bit true. The presidency's real power comes in when it comes to foreign affairs, so while RP might have a difficult time ruining the economy and destroying hard won rights for anyone who isn't white, heterosexual and upper class (why did this make him sound so conservative...), he would presumably have an easier time rolling back military bases and foreign interventions abroad. The downside is he would ruin America's soft power.

    Are you fucking kidding me?

You don't have to be bought when your entire platform is "let the rich fuck anyone and everyone to any extent imaginable, it's not the government's business."

Seriously? You realize his biggest supporters ARE in fact the military industrial giants he supposedly so vehemently opposes, right?

You don't see anything inherently evil in the philosophy that 5 year old sick kids at the hospital door should be told to go fuck themselves?
